The food was ok. I got the sushi nachos, the idea is creative but a bit bland, definitely lacking flavor. I’m kinda mindblown that tea costs $4 a cup and it’s just the one cup…I don’t think I’ll be dining here again.

Update: After no owner response and checking out other recent reviews I noticed they respond fairly often to 5 star reviews and not as often to the negative. I am very disappointed that the owners don’t seem to care about negative experiences that people have at their establishment. When we order 3 kani salads and all 3 are filled with dirty looking water at the bottom is unacceptable. Especially for someone with stage 4 cancer that is currently going through treatment and my immune system is extremely compromised I expected higher standards at a more expensive restaurant. This besides being disgusting in a normal situation could have ended up very easily with me becoming very sick from having dirty water in my salad. Not to to mention that the waitress STILL brought us a bill with all 3 salads on it and when I asked why we were charged for them in the condition they where brought out in she only took 2 of them off the bill. Very sad that the owners don’t seem to care about people having poor experiences. Glad my review has over 4,000 views and at least their customer base is seeing it.

The food was almost amazing. The biggest disappointment (and the reason for the 2 lost stars) was that the Kani salads that the 3 of us ordered were not what we expected at all. I have never had a Kani salad anywhere that had so much lettuce. Everywhere else I have ordered it I received a dish that was primarily kani with dressing and masago. We initially noticed that the lettuce was so wet that it was splashing water all over the table, after looking closer at my bowl I noticed there was a huge amount of water in the bowl making my salad more of a soup (picture of water is atrached). All 3 of our bowls were filled with a significant amount of water. I brought this to the waitress’s attention and she immediately apologized and offered to bring us all new salads, we did decline the replacement salads because it was such a turn off to have the $11 salads presented so poorly. Once we finished the meal I noticed all 3 salads were still on the receipt and I asked to have them taken off since we had all only had a few bites before we noticed, she only took 2 of the salads off at that time.

While the salad issue was a large downside, we did enjoy the rest of our meal and the sushi was fantastic!

Service was great. The decor is nice. I ordered pineapple fried rice was tasty with a nice curry flavor. Nicer if it had some raisins and other veggies like peas or carrots.

We went for lunch today. On the plus side, waitress was nice and the fried rice meals were fairly good. Honestly we have had better fried rice elsewhere. The reason for lower atmosphere rating was bc just after we ordered, the staff started processing wasabi. The powder must have gotten sucked up in the air handler bc the room was filled with it. Our eyes stung, and we were sneezing and wheezing. One family who hadn’t ordered yet left. We thought about leaving but it settled and we moved to a table further away from kitchen. The waitresses and hostess was hurting too and were apologetic. We were hoping they would have comped part of our meal but they didn’t over. We didn’t ask since it was our friend’s birthday and did not want to make a scene. We’ve enjoyed sushi there in the past but we may hold off on returning for a while.

Great food! My one complaint was that I ordered online and waiting to pick up until time. I was about 5 minutes after due to traffic. Once I arrived I asked for my order. I could tell they were slammed. The waitress said she forgot to call and let me know that they were out of some of my order and offered something else. My other food sat and waited while I waited another 8-10 minutes for the rest. By the time I got back to my hotel, the other food was cold and chewy 🙁

Once heated up in the microwave it was good, but not the same as fresh. I should have declined a replacement and just asked for a refund on items not available, so I only took off one star for food and only 2 on service since they were slammed.

Atmosphere and service were both fine. Some of the silverware my group was given still had food on them from previous meals that hadn’t been fully washed off. The food initially was quite good, but myself and two of our other five person group ended up leaving our trip out early due to feeling ill after eating here. I’m not sure what it was, but all of us had a soy-sauce broth-based noodle dish (I had the Cantonese noodles with chicken)

Ahhh…Niantic. Restaurants here do not need to work hard because Niantic itself is a joyful place. My Chicken Teriyaki dinner ($18) was excellent. Moist chicken, lovely presentation with broccoli florets ringing the chicken, carrot rounds (perfect) under the chicken, just the right amount of sauce and jasmine rice. A small salad with delicious dressing although it had that baffling watery quality and miso soup that was lukewarm preceded the dinner. My companion had the excellent Thai rice with chicken. The high top was wobbly. That’s the worst thing you can say about the experience. So easy to fix. I had the generous ginger martini, my partner enjoyed the Sam seasonal. It being Saturday of the Niantic Light Parade, we had an excellent view of the festivities-hence a 5 star atmosphere. In daylight, from our table, one can see the Niantic Bay. The young host attempted to shim the bottom of the table. Our server was pleasant. The loud blond server was not. It’s been a minute since we’ve visited The Spice Club. It’s worth another trip next time we’re thinking of Asian Fusion or Sushi.

Great food and atmosphere, but our server was super chatty to every table. Food was quick, but not her. Took forever to get our check and leave. We will be back though.
