We walked by on your way from the beach and saw this restaurant was a large open air(doors open) dining room on a gorgeous day. We saw people eating with their dog. we went to get dressed (out of our swimwear) and came back for lunch. We had our dog (a mild, well trained service animal). The hostess, Hannah(?) came out, asked how many, then went into the back, returning a few minutes later. She told us they didn’t allow dogs. She was unfriendly(no smile, no warmth), and we didn’t feel like arguing that our dog is a trained service animal and that we saw another dog there. We should’ve left, but returned our dog home and came back. The food was good – we had pizza. Service was fine. Lots of TVs. Good food and server, Not impressed with the hostess.

I went with my family at around 9:50pm. Service was excellent despite how late it was. Food was great too. I would go again, especially since late night food options with family are limited.
I tried the pizza and the wings. Both were good. The burger was reported to be good too. We were so hungry that a bite had to be taken before I could take a photo.

Newly reconstructed. Great ambiance. 6 big screens for all your entertainment options and sporting events. Large open air set up for beautiful days to have an outdoor feel under cover. Great pizza with the classic swirl. Good service always consistent.

We stopped in on a Saturday night to watch the ballgame & grab some dinner & we had a wonderful experience. Our white pizza was delicious, atmosphere was lively & it was easy to see any game on the big screens. But the real standout was our service from Nicholas B. who held down a very busy section calmly & was right on top of everything! We’ll be back for sure because of him.

Definitely not my New York Pizza but I guess this is the best around these parts. Would have given a higher rating if they had just COOKED the mushrooms and onions. They were both practically, if not, actually raw. Crispy thin pizza. Even tomato sauce was definitely a different (weird) taste and not the norm. Glad I finally visited to see that it does not live up to the hype. Don’t let the flashy exterior fool you. Better off going to an authentic small family owned Italian Pizzeria.

I stopped in for a slice and beer on my way to a show at the Bottle and Cork. I sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly. The pizza was crisp just like I like it. It looked like the place might be fairly new or newly remodeled anyway. It’s located right theee on Coastal Highway so close to the beach and everything else in Dewey really. You can’t go to the beaches in Delaware or Maryland and not get a slice of Grottos.

I’ve had Grotto Pizza else where, but it is so much better at the beach. They have a very nice deck area where my wife and I ate lunch. Which was very delicious. The service was great as well, our waitress was kind enough to take our picture. As the saying goes ” Everything is always better at the beach “.

We got take out and it was delicious and a lifesaver honestly. I would usually prefer a local pizza place than a chain but this pizza was a block away, delicious and saved the day. The Greek salad w/ tomato vinegar was good. A little pricey though

The young woman who took my takeout order was very pleasant and even offered to go back and let the cooks know that my husband had asked for his role to be toasted. After that, it all went downhill. My husband’s role was not toasted for his meatball sub, although they did provide light cheese like he asked. I’m not sure who taught them how to cook Detroit style pizzas, but the one that I received was nothing like the real ones from Detroit. It wasn’t even cooked all the way and the bottom was still like bread. I had to peel off the top of the pizza to have a half of a decent meal since it was late and we were too tired to go back out.
