Sweetest staff & neatest place to stop in and grab a quick, cheap bite!
Every person was friendly, at least 4 people checked and made sure we had already ordered.
We ordered 3 hot dogs / 3 cheeseburgers and we only waited about 8 minutes. They also had quite a bit of people in there too!
My picky children loved the cheeseburgers and I did too; Simple but made well!

I have been eating here for over 40 years. Of course, earlier years were spent at the restaurant on Bull Street. Both are exceptional restaurants with food that is AMAZING! I always have the chili cheese hamburger but tried a hot dog for the first time last weekend and was blown away! I ordered a second one because it was so good! There needs to be a Charlie Josephs in Newnan, GA and if one ever went to Atlanta, I’m almost certain it would shut The Varsity down. AND the hospitality is ALWAYS wonderful!!! Thank you, Charlie Joseph’s for being such an AWESOME part of my life!!!

This place is absolutely fantastic, no wonder they’ve been around since 1920. You know it’s gonna be good as soon as you walk in the door with the classic diner vibe it gives off. They even fired up the toy train for the kids to see. The burgers are awesome but the star of the show for me was the spicy relish dog. They even took extra care to package up the pint of spicy relish I ordered to go so that it would survive our trip back home. We’ll be coming back next time we’re in Lagrange. Great food, great people and a nice old school feel.

I went to this restaurant for the first time and was really looking forward to it, but the experience made me sad and uncomfortable. While I was there, I saw the owner being extremely rude and hateful toward an employee over the way he was sweeping the floor. The worker looked like he was doing his best, and it felt completely unnecessary and harsh. It was really upsetting to watch, especially since employees like him are the reason a business can stay open in the first place. Treating staff that way, especially in front of customers, isn’t okay. Because of this experience, I won’t be coming back. I hope the owner learns to treat their employees with more respect.

This was my first time here, I was told by my wife that it awesome. Well today I gave it a shot and was super impressed. I got a chili cheese dog, a chili cheese burger and it was fantastic. The service is one of if not the fastest I’ve ever received and the atmosphere is awesome, alot to look at. Highly recommend, I don’t give out 5 stars often.

This is a place my family and I visit often, and we’ve usually had positive experiences at this location. Today, however, was very uncomfortable. We were the only customers inside, and a young man who took our order was polite, attentive, and clearly trying to do his job well.
Unfortunately, on three separate occasions we witnessed different employees speak harshly to him over very minor issues, such as placing a drink on one section of the counter instead of another. Most upsetting was when the owner spoke very harshly to him simply for attempting to sweep the floor.
The tone and treatment made our entire family uncomfortable, to the point that we chose to leave as soon as possible. It really left a bad taste in my mouth, as it felt unnecessary and unkind…especially toward someone who appeared to be working hard and doing his best. I don’t know if I will be back.

This was the first time me and my wife ate here it was atrocious. Honestly we could have made this way better at home. It was almost closing time for them so I guess that’s why we got poor service. There was literally a corner of chili on each hot dog. I went back to the window to ask for more chili and the guy said it would be cold if he gave me more so I took it to the gas station to warm it up. I got 3 chili cheese and my wife got 3 chili slaw. We were super hungry and just decided to try a random place while in Lagrange. Never again. They used sliced cheese and it was just bland and the hot dog seemed pre-made and just warmed up and the paper was stuck to the bread. I’m all for small businesses because I’m a small business owner myself but this was just ridiculous and needs improvement asap

In and out pretty quickly for lunch. It’s got a nostalgic feel. Ordered two dogs, a sweet relish and one chili and cheese. The chili was good and the relish was packed on. The price was fairly inexpensive as well, you won’t break the bank.

The owner of the establishment and two employees were very rude to one employee in particular. The gentleman they were being rude to was the only one that was doing 90% of the work the whole time we were there. As we were leaving the owner was extremely rude to the employee stating that he wasn’t sweeping the floor correctly. Instead of treating it as a teaching lesson he talked down to him in front of our family eating there as well as the rest of the employees. Will not be back.
