Everything good that all of the previous reviewers said is true. I lucked out by chance finding the Tamarack on my way from La Junta to Pueblo and boy was I hungry. A short while later I was pleasantly full and happy as the proverbial clam.
As a side note, the Tamarack’s bathrooms are probably the cleanest and tidiest I’ve seen in any restaurant or bar in years. Congrats.

I’ve been here a few times and it seems to be hit or miss every time. It lacks consistency. Sometimes the food is great and other times it is not. The homemade pie is always good, and the Banana Cream is made with real bananas, not the fake stuff you find at VI or Perkins. Last time the music was way too loud and everyone claimed they could not turn it down– makes it difficult to have a conversation with those who are hard of hearing. It’s still a great place to stop for a bite to eat when you are in Fowler.
Edited– I came in from Missouri last week and met the family there for lunch. The food was much better than the time before, back to the quality that we have enjoyed for years. I am raising my rating to 5 stars instead of 4 because of the food, and because someone actually turned the music down when we requested it so my elderly dad could hear us talk.

This place was great! We stopped here randomly on our way to Colorado Springs. The portions were huge and the price was more then fair.
3 of the 4 of us ordered chicken fried steak which was on special. We were all VERY impressed and highly recomend this.
Our server was Jayde and she was excellent and attentive. We all would recommend stopping in if your passing through!

This is an outstanding restuarant to eat at. They serve the largest best tasting burgers around. The handbreaded chicken fried steak is tender and very flavorful. Oh my, the apple pie…..wow!!!!!
