At our Searcy, AR location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Stopped in today. Ate Captain D’s the first time I’ve eaten here in years..
I was very surprised the food was quite good and the service was fast, efficient and friendly.
The location itself was clean, including the restrooms.
I feel that the food is a little overpriced, however it was good change for something different and the noise level in the lobby was very moderate.
That’s definitely a nice change..

We’re traveling across country for work and haven’t had Captain D’s since the early 90’s. Today’s experience brought me back to that time. The food was amazing! Good portions, hot, and filling. Keep up the great work and we’ll be back for sure!

Came in with my dad to get det dinner, it was busy so we waited patiently when my food came it sat in the window for way to long, went to the front to get it and waited with the manager lady in the kitchen just playing and cutting it up with the crew while the other manager has no up front help. So I said just give me a refund she said ok I dint know how I said ok . Oh it gets better im gonna call her tatoo because she didn’t have a name tag. She came from the back asking why this why that. It doesn’t matter why, or how come. When the customer ask for a refund you just say with a smile yes let me get right on that.

Your manger named Megan or Michel I can’t remember her name. she kept flirting with my boyfriend and then wrote her number on his receipt completely unprofessional! He was clearly with me we just paid separately the disrespect of this girl is wild! We will never be coming back thanks to your poor choice of management and there disrespectful behaviors

There is occasionally that visit to a restaurant that stands out above the rest. I’m not sure if the management team was manning the fort or if this store is just a well oiled machine. From the minute I walked in the reception area was clean and inviting. The man with the headset that would normally be taking care of drive-through took my order because there was someone in front of me at the cash register. He did it quickly and I was paying with my credit card ,my food was up in the window before we finished the process. This means that the person on the line in the kitchen was listening so they can get a jump on the order. That was impressive. The food came out quick very very quick almost light speed. The food was hot, fresh and exactly what I ordered. I picked up my food and walked to the dining area and chose a booth. Made my drink and went to the restroom to wash my hands. The restroom was spotless and clean. The dining room was spotless and clean. Something else I love about Captain D’s is you can get your catch-up and condiments from a pump dispenser into a dish. I absolutely hate tearing open little packets of ketchup. At Captain D’s you don’t have to do that. I enjoyed my meal and left. I highly recommend Captain D’s of Searcy. I don’t eat fish every day, but when I do it will be Captain D’s seafood restaurant.

The slowest drive through on planet earth. Ordered at 6:11 and didn’t get my food until 6:53. They told me I couldn’t cancel my order. Wont be back. Oh and they didn’t even get my order right terrible.

Good food but my lobster rolls were made sloppy. And the roll isn’t even a roll. It’s their breadstick. I had to remake my 1 lobster roll. And we waited for about 20 minutes for our food and the were definitely not busy.

I haven’t had a meal this bad from Captain D’s for a while. The food was not fresh. I went around 1:15. The only thing that was decent was the bread rolls. I probably should have gotten the lobster rolls instead of the Ultimate platter. The fries and broccoli were decent. I had low expectations when they didn’t park me to prepare the food fresh. I guess I won’t be back for another 12months, once they change the cook. The girl at the drive-thru window was super sweet.

EDIT: Today (Monday, July 26 2021), my husband and I went to Captain D’s and bought an order to-go. A 2 pc chicken and 2 pc fish meal with fries and coleslaw. I have been eating at Captain D’s since childhood. I am extremely fond of their food. But the last few times, I’ve been very disappointed, with this time being the worst. The Searcy location has gone downhill a little. The staff is typically polite and prompt, but the food has not been good. I hate to leave negative feedback, and only do so when I deem it absolutely necessary.
I always eat their chicken tenders, because they’re some of my favorite chicken tenders from any restaurant. But what I got today couldn’t even be called chicken. It wasn’t crispy, and the batter fell off. That has never happened before. It was mushy and not flavourful, tender, or juicy. The fries tasted old and stiff, even the cracklins tasted as if they were old and fried in old Grease. My husband said his fish was a bit tough. We aren’t very happy with the meal we got from Captain D’s today, nor have I been particularly pleased with the last few visits I’ve made to this location. I’m hoping to continue eating there in the future and be able to enjoy the same quality I’m used to from Captain D’s in Searcy, but I’m very reluctant to spend money there again without knowing if it will be good or not.
Again, I’m sorry to have to complain, I genuinely don’t like to leave negative remarks, but I have to be honest. Below you will find my previous review from before the quality went down. I hope I can restore this review back to what it was previously, only leaving positive feedback. Hopefully this location improves before the next time we visit. I attached two photos of what my chicken looked like. I would have brought the meal back to show the staff on duty, but I live over 45 mins away in Des Arc, so by the time I got home and started eating it was too late. I’m changing my review to 2 stars for now.
Captain D’s Please! I give this place 4 stars because the food is consistently delicious, and the service is prompt. I’ve never had an issue with anything when eating there. One bit of criticism I have: why did Captain D’s decide to switch from serving Coca-Cola products to serving Pepsi?! Coke goes so much better with their food, and Pepsi is just an inferior copy-cat cola recipe. This has really put a damper on my experience. I have resorted to bringing my own drink when I come to eat there. Other than the Coke/ Pepsi switcheroo, I have no complaints. The fish is always great, as well as the chicken. Both regular and premium side options are great. If you like this type of place, then this location will not disappoint. 🙂
