Dan and I came to Nantucket as a newlywed couple, and we were looking to spend one night at a finer dining, romantic establishment….Company of the Cauldron delivered on all fronts! Upon arrival, we were kindly greeted by their front of house and led to a table that had congratulatory notes written all over it! The sommelier came over to our table after seeing that I’d ordered the house red wine and decided I’d to try a very healthy bonus pour of the white! The vibe is so romantic and there were people dressed in everything from khakis to full suits. We felt right at home and wouldn’t have felt out of place if we had dressed down a little (unlike some places where you feel like a sore thumb if you don’t wear the most expensive clothes you own). Thank you to Company of the Cauldron for a memory that we will carry with us forever – Dan and Savannah

Our dinner at The Company of the Cauldron was the perfect way to end our trip on Nantucket. From the warm, intimate ambiance to the flawless service, everything about the evening felt special.

The food was impeccable—truly one of the best meals we’ve had anywhere. The lobster was hands-down the best I’ve ever tasted, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.

The staff was incredibly kind and attentive. The sommelier was friendly and knowledgeable, and we loved chatting with the chef when he came out to say hello at the end of the meal—a lovely personal touch that made the experience even more memorable.

Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it for a meal of this caliber.

Getting a reservation was not easy, but we had a lovely experience. For the night of our reservation, the main entree was the Beef Wellington. Each item was prepared to perfection and full of great flavor. We opted for the wine pairing and I found that to be worth it, they were all delicious. A shout out to the staff, they provided us with great service from the beginning until the end.

I am not too sure about the price & whether it is justifiable for the island or not.. but I was underwhelmed with the overall service, atmosphere, and plating.

The food was rich with lots of butter & it takes away some of the other flavors that you want to taste with the courses. If you tend to eat somewhat “lighter” you may end up leaving the restaurant with a really full & heavy feeling stomach.

The popovers are a staple here, but slightly unjustifiable to be listed as one of the courses. I do think that there should be maybe 1 other small/pallet cleansing course included.

As a collective group.. we would not come back for another meal not because the of the food, but just because we’ve had better dining experiences on the island.

With wine pairings/alcohol $150-$200+ per person.

Ok, so my wife and I just finished spending 1 month in Nantucket and I have been waiting to share my review of this place so I could take into context our other dining experiences. And…….

Unfortunately, considering the incredible atmosphere and service, this was our worst meal on the island from a food perspective.

The 3 course set menu the night we went was:

Bread Service
Course 1: Caesar Salad
Course 2: Swordfish
Course 3: Corn Cake

Everything tasted good, but none of it was even close to being elevated enough for $175 (before wine/tip/tax) set menu at what is supposed to be a fine dining restaurant.

Nantucket is not a cheap place, but this has to be the most mispriced rip off I could possible imagine. Below let me take a guess about how the price would be broken down versus what the same dish would cost at other fine dining establishments in Nantucket:

COMPANY OF THE CAULDRON PRICE

Bread Service (free)
Course 1: Caesar Salad $50
Course 2: Swordfish $100
Course 3: Corn Cake $25

AVG NANTUCKET PRICES
(Based on the quality of food we received)

Bread Service (free – $15)
Course 1: Caesar Salad ($22-30)
Course 2: Swordfish ($45-60)
Course 3: Corn Cake ($17-22)

….. the pricing for what was delivered just doesn’t make sense. The sad thing is 1) this is such a cool venue and such great service and 2) it would have taken just a little effort from the chef to make the price reasonable – maybe an amuse bouche between each course would have made us get lost in the ambience and forget about how overpriced each dish was.

Again, I am not complaining about Nantucket prices, have been here for a month, and we have gotten used to how high they are. This quality of food and amount of courses was just not even close to what it should have been for the price point.

Didn’t live up to the hype and at $150+ per person not worth it. Fried chicken, popover, cupcake were great. The salad and sides and SERVICE were on par with a school cafeteria. Soooo disappointed.

Wonderful time spent here, courses are perfectly balanced regarding taste, and for the full experience of this extraordinary meal, wine pairings were an absolutely marvelous match!
Music, atmosphere, service was delightful!
Chef‘s are nice, they came and checked upon us, if we liked everything, and this night was truly one of a kind! ✨

We were very excited to try this place for brunch after reading the reviews.
Very disappointed experience however, food was just OK, very dark inside however the service was good. I had the hash and my wife tried the chicken and waffles.
Was nothing special unfortunately considering it was $40 each.
Maybe dinner would be better?? Had some excellent experiences while on Nantucket but this fell flat.

a great name, great location, and a reputation in decline. We were told that the chef is learning how to make deserts, and then served a remarkably dry cake. Why not just go to the grocery store like other island restaurants, it would be just as good and save the kitchen time/effort. almost $1000 for a completely forgettable meal. The interior is charming and the wait staff were so professional and nice. If the quality of your food matters to you, then you should consider some of the islands other premier restaurants before you settle for the Cauldron in 2025.
