Annandale McDonald’s:
Tonight a friend of mine had done an online order and unfortunately her window wouldn’t go down to pickup from the window. She parked next to the building to run in and grab her order. She explained to the male working about her window and he said, no problem, I’ll get your order started. Then a female worker approached her about her vehicle being parked there and told her they aren’t domino’s and she can’t park there. She explained to the female worker as well why she was parked there and that once her order was filled, she would be leaving. The female worker insisted she move the car and my friend said her children were in the vehicle and she wanted them within sight or her while being inside quickly. At no point did the female worker ask her politely to move it, instead had attitude from the start. When my friend explained she wasn’t moving, the female worker turned to the male worker and said she just yelled at me don’t fill her order, I don’t care. The male worker then approached her and said they would refund her money and she told him she just wants her food for her child and he then told her they can refuse service to anyone. He gave her a cash refund and she left.
We ordered our food, extremely pleasant, female blonde hair with glasses, cashier. She got the amount wrong but it happens, I wasn’t upset at all. I had one special order of a burger with no onions, other than that we ordered a few happy meals with extra toys.
We went to wash our hands and the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, assumed it was only the one but both were equally bad, urine, feces and toilet paper scattered throughout with wads of hair in the sink.
We sat down and the tables were drenched with a liquid. I can only hope it was just cleaned as every table was as equally wet. The floor was slippery with grime, appeared as though a grease mop was used on it.
We received our order. The burger with no onions had a sticker that said no onions, opened the package to find onions. I am not one to complain so I picked them off.
We received 3 of the 4 toys that were the same. As we paid extra for the toys, my son asked the polite blue haired female employee for a refund and she said, “sorry unfortunately we cannot give a refund”. He came back in disappointment as he used his own money to buy them, he is six. As a mother, of course I felt bad they could not refund his money, so I went up to the counter and asked for a toy exchange instead of a refund. The very polite blue haired employee said, “sorry unfortunately we cannot do exchanges”.
Now I’m standing there in disbelief, thinking no refunds and no exchanges on toys we paid extra for?? I understand if it was food, but it was one unopened toy?? The polite blue haired female asked if I would like to talk to the manager as she could clearly see the confusion on my face. I said “yes, please”.
The employee walked to the fry area where the manager was. The employee did not even have a chance to ask the manager as the manager turned my direction and yelled “NO REFUNDS!”. Now I’m severely in shock as I was not even rude or disrespectful at this point to receive this kind of disrespect. The manager, who was a brown curly haired female, could not even take ten steps to the front counter to explain why they do not refund or exchange toys. I stood there for at least another minute staring at her waiting for her to come to the front counter. She just stood at the fry counter not even scooping fries. There was no one else even in the restaurant. I couldn’t believe it.
I walked back to our table feeling extremely disrespected and to think we go to this place on a regular basis and to be treated this way was unbelievable, especially over a $2.00 toy?!? It was not a collectable Pokemon or Minecraft special edition or a limited edition anything. I definitely wanted to loose my cool and yell back but didn’t.
I told my children we are leaving. Asy children were cleaning up their food, I stood at the front counter again giving the manager one more opportunity to make it right. During this wait, another customer came in from the drive thru and said his order was wrong and the employee behind the counter, a male, disputed with the customer saying that is what he ordered. The customer got upset and said he had a very picky child in the vehicle and knows he said no mustard, the male employee patted the burger and said that was the order.
I felt like I was in twilight zone, like waiting for the cameras to come out as we were all being pranked. No cameras. The manager never stepped away from the fry area, not even scooping fries, just stood there.
I’m leaving this review as awareness of the situation as I really hope others do not encounter the same situation. The unfortunate part of small town living is the limited food choices for a family. Honestly, I’m still in shock and wish I would have taken pictures and would have recorded the situation as I cannot recall the last time anyone has snapped at me that way.
