Very clean, open venue, with a comfortable atmosphere! They have a wonderful menu that is easy to read with distinct descriptions and photos of food options. Delicious adult beverages as well as a self-service soda island that is clean and easy to use! Polite, professional, and friendly staff really add to your dining experience! A local favorite restaurant with well-deserved accolades! Recommend the margaritas and fish tacos

The food was really good. I think the layout is a bit unusual for this type of restaurant. You order at the front counter and a tip is requested before even being seated. You get your own non-alcoholic drink on the way to the table. They deliver the chips and your food, but you are responsible for refills on the non-alcoholic drinks.

For the best Mexican experience in Mexican fare, the focus.os obviously Tequila in Waterloo! The service, the menu, the vibe and the food makes this destination a sight for the eyes and soul. I highly recommend The Flan because it is the best I have had in 30 years! Eat a place that values their patrons–so dine at Tequila!

Try their Sunday brunch. Holy cow at least 20 different hot dishes, chocolate fountain, and lots of fruit and desserts.

Waterloo, IL location: huge buffet on Sundays, which I highly recommend. Everything from bacon, eggs and sausage to tacos, wings, shrimp, and many other great Mexican favorites. The owner shared a bit of his time with my wife and I, truly making us feel welcomed. Everyone always works hard and has a smile on their face. Check out my picture of the orange slice flower ice cube that was in my wife’s mimosa. He then brought us a margarita which had an ice cube in it the shape of a diamond, which they use on higher quality drinks.

Columbia, IL location: Great Mexican food, fast with great prices. Different layout with counter style in Columbia, IL.

We drove buy and decided to have some Mexican food. It’s a bit pricey. There’s no bean and cheese tacos on the menu (this is my forever salvation when there’s little of vegetarian options), there’s just “Taco”, but they said they could make some. The employee on the register who takes orders does not know what is queso fresco or charro beans are (and they don’t have charro beans on the menu as well) We were having a take out order and they packed it in so much plastic, like not a single paper bag for at least chips. My tacos were flavorless, red salsa was flavorless. Salsa verde was better though. My husband said that his street tacos were good. Don’t know, could not check because they are beefy one of course and I am vegetarian. Well, not going to other Tequila locations as well after this experience.
UPDATE: I will type it here because I can’t respond to the restaurant. They say they don’t serve queso fresco, but they do – this is exactly what they put in my bean and cheese tacos and my husband’s meal. Also, queso fresco and charro beans are one of the staples of the Mexican cuisine, so the employees should be more knowledgeable about this. Putting chips in plastic bags saying that they will stay fresh for more time makes me ask some more questions: How old are those chips? Who in the world is leaving chips for several days? Why don’t you care about environment and my personal health rubbing those chips against plastic bag?

This is the first time my family and I were at Tequila’s since they changed things. What a horrible experience, my family and I will not be back. The experience was very impersonal There were 5 of us, instead of each of us going up separately to order, one of us wrote everything down and went up and placed our order. This is ridiculous, if they are going to bring our food to the table why not have a waitress?? The atmosphere is nothing like it used to be, we will be going to Casa Romero from now on, if I want to serve myself I’ll just go to Taco Bell. Whomever thought this was a great idea needs to rethink things or Tequilas will lose lots of business.

The food was ok but frankly nothing special. The process of ordering in advance is a bit odd. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The booth seats were torn and need to be replaced. Not sure we will be going back.

For some idiotic reason they now seat us at the table and we then have to go to the counter to order and pay. Then we have to get our drinks ourselves. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have to take 3 or 4 small children to the counter to try to get them to order. And I’m certainly not going back up there to order a dessert.
It is stupid to make a change for change’s sake and there’s another Mexican restaurant in town which is probably going to see a huge increase in business.

You order like a fast food restaurant and are expected to tip in advance. You order your food at a counter from an overhead menu. 18% is the minimum tip expected. With the poor service we got I would have given minimal/no tip.
