Food was good! Hot and ready, fresh! Weekday lunch is $15 and dinner is around $20
The service was nice, the waitress was attentive and kind.
I love the sushi, it was fresh and the chef kept putting them out and the skewers were delicious.
Would come again, I wish they offered brownies or cake for dessert as the option was a bit limited. Or even fruits. They did have pudding, ice cream which are a plus.
Additionally, they did provide a vast selection of entrees. Noodles, fried rice, dumplings, fried chicken, Mac and cheese, pizza, apple pie, French fries, and soup. The basic Chinese buffet type of foods.
There was able a chef for hibachi if you want something specific.

We were pleasantly surprised by this buffet! From the outside, just because of the location, we were a bit hesitant to come in. However, we walked in and decided to give it a shot.
The food was actually pretty good. We tried a ton of things in the buffet, everything was cooked well and the flavors were great. With the variety of food that we tried, I can honestly say nothing was bad. Can’t complain because the hot food was hot and the cold was cold lol. They all had a pretty large selection of both vegetarian and regular food options (hibachi, sushi, appetizers, meat, seafood). Dessert was good too!
Atmosphere of the restaurant is great as well. The tables were pretty, the restaurant was clean. The service was great too. The waitresses were very attentive. Pricing was decent, came out to 20$ a person. Overall we enjoyed it and plan to come back.

Hands-down one of the best buffet restaurants in Rhode Island. We had a wonderful experience there most recently and were impressed all over again by the variety and quality of the food. The selection is extensive with plenty of Asian dishes, sushi, and seafood options. The seafood—especially the snow crab legs—was a standout, and the sushi was fresh and constantly replenished.
It does get busy during peak hours, but the staff does a great job keeping everything stocked and moving smoothly. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly, making it an easy choice for a relaxed meal.
Overall, Umami Buffet is a great spot near Newport when you’re looking for variety, quality, and value. We’ll definitely be back!

typical buffet with a lot of food options, their sushi is decent and seems freshly made, I’m surprised on the amount of the salad bar options, the owner is nice and friendly all servers is attentive and help us right away, my husband wanted to try the hibachi but no body is there to help him so he sticks on the hot food available, If we live around this place we will definitely coming back for quick meal.

Yumi is the best of both dine in and takeout. You can eat in at the all you can eat buffet hibachi and sushi. There’s also a salad bar, dessert, and Ice cream bar. Alternatively, you can fill your own take out containers that are charged by the pound. If you’re not a huge eater or prefer to be pretty selective, this is a fantastic option. You can even get quarts of soup to go. The food is good and there’s a great variety. The staff are mostly friendly. One of my favorite places to eat when I can’t decide what I want. It’s easy to get a little of everything. Highly recommended.

After hearing many glorious online reviews my wife and I decided to try the Umami Buffet in Middletown, RI. Much to our disappointment we would have probably had a better dining experience going to McDonald’s. The meats were mostly cold and rubbery. The seafood had a very distinct low tide aroma. As per dessert it was your standard Asian Buffet sadly it was either overly sweetened, or flavorless. I do recommend the vanilla ice-cream. That was the best part of the meal.

Great deal for all you can eat chinese food! Went at 11am for lunch friday; food was FRESH! Can’t beat $11 for lunch! 4 buffett tables with your typical buffett fare (general tsoi chicken, teriyaki, fried rice, spring rolls, etc, 1 dessert table (large selection of fruits and sweet desserts), and soup and fresh sushi and ice cream! HIGHLY recommend if you are a buffett fan or just hungry for cheap, decent chinese food
