For being a beach bar, it’s awesome. This place has an unbeatable location: right on the beach. Being from New Jersey, this place brings me back to days hanging out at the Jersey shore. The menu has all the right foods so you can have a cold beer, munch away, listen to live music, catch some rays, and pass away the day. My fav is the fried shrimp sandwich. They STUFF the sandwich with shrimp. No skimping. The shrimp is not over-breaded, and the aioli has just the right amount of kick to make you keep wanting another bite. The fries were crunchy outside and soft inside. And, our standing order to the waiter regarding the Dockamole was, ‘just keep it coming!’ It is soooo good.
Make no mistake, everything on the menu tastes great.
And it’s right in the middle of the city (but it doesn’t feel like it).

Really wanted to like this place because I love a good beach bar, especially one walkable to the dog beach – however it was a bust amazing atmosphere but the wait time for food and the food itself was extremely under par. The service and waiters were great!! But the wait and food not so much. The wait for the food was so long the couple sitting in from of me got up, paid and left. Their food came out just as they were paying and leaving and they let it sit, didn’t even box it up. It’s not even fully summer so I can only imagine how much worse this will get in the actual summer. The food was bland (got the burger, they forgot to put cheese on it so the food runner came back with a slice of cold cheese and slapped it on) fries were good. Drinks could’ve also been better/stronger.
The price was OUTRAGEOUS!! I got a michelada, frozen margarita, and a burger/fries and my bill was $53!!!! I’m from Laguna Beach CA so I know the price of food/drinks and used to paying for it, but for this location and quality of drinks/food I almost fell out of my CHAIR! So overpriced. It’s literally a on a lake in the Midwest, come on people.

We had the special pitcher for 22$ and some pop shrimps. There was a group playing and the weather was amazing. Pretty nice end of the day. Chilling on the sunset!

The food here is always meh but the live music on the beach you can’t beat. Half of draft beers weren’t working ♀️
Upon arriving today July 3rd we were told there would be no specials due to the holiday weekend. Supposedly it’s in the fine print which I didn’t find. What I did find is that they charge 3% for employee’s benefits but every employee I asked received no benefits. Pretty much they nickel and dime you and it’s all in the fine print!

We played summer volleyball at Montrose this summer and the Dock called to us with its siren song each week. We finally decided we deserved to dine at the Dock and it was a great season end cap.
The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. The beers were cold. The music was good!
The prices are higher as you should expect for a beach bar, but the views and vibes are well worth it!
We brought 8 people and waited about 45 min for a table. Not too bad considering we could frolic the beach while we waited. They texted us when the table was ready.
Definitely go to the dock if you’re looking for an epic beachside dining experience.

I had such high hopes for this restaurant. I regularly visit Montrose Beach and we finally decided to stop in for lunch after a walk and swim at the Beach. The waitress almost seemed annoyed taking our order she grabbed the menus immediately after we ordered our appetizers. Odd we had to ask for them back. She didn’t really do much other staff brought out our dishes. The Pierogies were good, however the shrimp skewers were laughable. Two skewers with 3 miniature flavorless shrimps each for $18 was tragically disappointing. My boyfriends burger had absolutely no flavor as well, again disappointing. The Tuna salad was disappointing as well the tuna was over cooked and the salad was drenched in dressing way too much. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment at all. Extremely overpriced and flavorless.

Hubby and I love this place. It has been our go to place during summer for many years now. The food is always fresh, consistent and excellent. The service is friendly and attentive. Pets are welcome and it is definitely a plus. The waiting time can be long depending on day/time you decide to go, but this is also an indication of their success. The atmosphere is everything you look for in a fun, friendly, welcoming restaurant.

The menu has some really lovely tacos and some interesting burgers and salads. Nothing wildly outrageous but very tasty. Prices typical Chicago. It also has quite extensive bar that we haven’t explored very much. They have lots of free cold water.
Really appreciate that they have lots of shade umbrellas that enable you to sit comfortably or at least fairly comfortably on a hot day and eat a nicemeal and enjoy a beverage.
And the eating area is fairly large and is handicap accessible.

I was not satisfied with the service that was provided. During the order, the server asked if I wanted cheese on my burger without mentioning that there is an additional charge. On top of that, I don’t get why is there a hospitality surcharge when the food is expensive and the quality was not in line with the price charged.
I had caesar salad which was good. The fries were tasty but the burger didn’t have any flavor in it. There was no sauce or ketchup included. The guy took the ketchup stand when my food didn’t even arrive. Also the salad should be served first before serving the main course but in my case the salad was served together along with burger and fries. The burger and fries were cold which indicates that it was kept out for a while, due to which I had to ask the server to warm it up. So in terms of customer service, the place needs a lot of improvement.

I’ve been dying to check out this place since last summer, but I haven’t had a chance. Morgan was an exceptional server, and the food and cocktails were absolutely divine. I’m definitely coming back this season!
