Pistola’s Del Sur might officially be one of my favorite spots in Passyunk. Easily one of the best happy hours around, and honestly just a great place overall.
I tried all five tacos: tuna, carne asada, roasted chicken, cheesesteak, and buffalo cauliflower, and every single one was amazing.
Still can’t decide which one was my favorite. The chips and salsa were super fresh, with chips so crispy they tasted homemade.
The staff was incredibly friendly, service was quick, and food came out fast. The vibe inside is chill and relaxing, with a couple TVs, plenty of seating, and a great setup whether you’re there to hang out or just grab a bite. They also have an outdoor area, which I’m definitely coming back for once the weather warms up.
Now let’s talk drinks…if you like margaritas, you have to get the Diablo marg pitcher. During happy hour it’s $28, perfectly priced, strong, and great to share.
Overall, I’ll 100% be back multiple times. Highly recommend, not just for happy hour, but for the food, service, and atmosphere too.

I don’t know how I never reviewed this location! Been going since Sanchos opened in fishtown, but when they opened Del Sur in my neighborhood (with a wood fire oven) I knew it was our new favorite spot. All the food is absolutely dank and we can’t get enough of the margaritas.
You’ll catch us here at least once a week (sometimes twice)!

Went here last Friday with my friend and got some really crappy service. We ordered some nachos and a margarita to start and I guess our waiter decided he was going to ignore us after that. I also thought it was a little strange that he ran away so quickly after dropping off my margarita. We finished the nachos and over half an hour passed. My friend attempted to call our waiter over two times and I saw him look at my friend and choose to ignore him. We left $20 on the table then left. It really sucked to see everyone around us getting great service except for us. I also couldn’t help but notice that we were the only people of color in his section. He was white with short brown hair, and a little overweight. So just beware that if you come to this restaurant and you get this waiter, you might get some crap service. I won’t be coming here again.

My friend and I came here for a quick lunch on a Sunday. No crowd, just a few people. It was definitely a divey kind of place because it was really dark in the space. We had to find a table near a light to see! We shared the guacamole which was delicious and addicting. I got the mahi mahi tacos and those might be the best Mahi tacos I’ve had in a while. So flavorful and they looked beautiful. I’d definitely go back to try some of their other dishes!

Stumbled across this place due to its late hours. I had no complaints about the food. Even the wings were good. They also still served us 35 mins prior to closing.

Pistolas Del Sur is a fantastic addition to the South Philly food scene and a worthy extension of the Pistolas brand. Located right on Passyunk Ave, it brings the same energy and quality that fans of the original locations have come to expect, without feeling like a copy-paste chain. The space is vibrant but laid-back, with a good mix of bar seating and tables, making it equally suited for casual dinners or group outings. Service is consistently friendly and efficient.

The food here is excellent across the board. The burritos are easily the highlight—massive, packed with flavor, and perfectly balanced in texture. Whether you’re going with carnitas, chicken tinga, or their seared shrimp option, everything tastes fresh and carefully made. Their tacos, nachos, and house salsas all follow suit with bold seasoning and high-quality ingredients. The drinks menu also holds up, with a strong showing of tequilas and margaritas that hit right.

Takeout is handled well, too. They pack everything with care, label it clearly, and keep hot and cold items separate—no soggy tacos or leaking salsa cups. It’s rare to find that level of attention to detail in to-go orders, but Pistolas Del Sur nails it.

Overall, it’s another win for the Pistolas group—great food, great service, and a welcome new presence on Passyunk.

Great food. Delicious. Unique options and flavors, it’s a great taco place. The songs playing in the background were excellent, and the artist decor was great too. The server was also great, we went around 11:30 AM. Most importantly, the food was very good. I’d highly recommend. It is a little pricey, but worth it for the quality. Plus considering inflation right now, it’s a pretty decent price.

Taco ‘bout a tasty meal! We stopped by Pistola’s Del Sure for tacos and it did not disappoint!

For dinner, we ordered:
– Papas Fritas: fries with garlic and cotija cheese
– Traditional Guacamole
– Mahi Mahi Tacos: tempura battered, pickled red cabbage, chipotle aioli, cilantro
– Shrimp Al Pastor Tacos: pineapple pico, pickled red onions, salsa verde, cilantro
– Churros

Next time you’re in the Philly area, swing by Pistolas Del Sur to fulfill your taco craving!

Was exploring the East Passyunk Ave and landed at Pisstola’a for dinner. I knew they had several versions of ceviche on the menu. Selected the Ceviche Mixto. Plenty of lime juice, heat from Serrano peppers. Served with corn tortilla chips. I like mild to medium spice…this had more heat than I prefer…but I did finish it…very flavorful. Also ordered tortilla soup, also very flavorful. That I could not finish. Just too spicy for me. The chips were super crunchy…I Prefer thinner chips. I would go back, everything was very fresh, served fast and they have a great menu. Just need to dial down the Serrano usage for me.

Margaritas? Fantastic. Elote? Best I’ve had. Pulled pork burrito? Fantastic.

I’ve been here twice now, and the service is always amazing, the food is great, and the drinks do their job.
