Fresh Chef Kitchen

Use to be my favorite burger place and the past two times I’ve been here they’ve totally burnt my burger and bun. Me and my family definitely won’t be coming back here again. When we pulled up we noticed no one was there on a Saturday evening which should have been a sign. Oh well it use to be good but these guys must’ve fired or lost the people who knew how to actually cook a year ago or so

Popped in here off the highway. Better than anything you can get from chains closer to the exit.

Overall was good. Nothing particularly special, burger was bland. Crab cake was good. Seems like you standard business lunch place. It has something for everyone.

I was hesitant to come here at first, I had never heard of this place before but I took a plunge on my lunch break and gave it a go. Atmosphere is nice, not my style of music but it was fun. Place looked clean and plenty of room to sit. I was greeted at the door by a server and was immediately taken to a table. Ordered the Provolone and Mushroom burger with fries and sweet tea. The tea is perfect and not too much ice. The burger came out perfectly, and tasted wonderful even though it didnt hold its shape. The shoe string fries tasted wonderful and were cooked perfectly. The servers checked on me and didnt rush me at all. It was a very welcoming and calm environment, would definitely come back here again. Great food, great service. Wonderful

Read all of this- its reviews for 2 locations. Staff was fantastic, service was fast, food was ok, portions are small for the price. Family of 3- 3 teas. 2 chicken sandwiches and 1 steak was 85$ outrageous!! They steak was ok, only 1/2″ thick and a small side of mashed potatoes was 37$. It was our first visit. We won’t be back to this Conover location.

*****Update- we went to the Fresh Chef in the Rock Barn Neighborhood. If you didnt know it is open to the public.. Totally different experience. Staff was great, food was Fast and delicious! This location offers burgers- literally the best burger we’ve had in the area. And half the price of the other Conover location- make it make sense.

***** another update Fresh Chef in Rock Barn has a good breakfast also. Sausage, egg and cheese croissant. 10/10.
Meat lovers omelet 12/10- they use county ham instead, it was amazing..

Thr food is FRESH as the name of the restaurant is! The service needs to improve! It seems like they want to get your order in and forget about you. I had to purposely set my sweet tea at the edge of the table and finally someone else( not our waiter) asked what I was drinking. Then I had to ask two times for a to-go box. Then asked two times for a bag, and two times for our bill. I was ready to get out of the place!!!

We were pleasantly surprised upon entering for our first visit. We were greeted by a lovely Hostess who seated us at a comfortable booth. Very tidy, well kept dining room, although , the light hanging over the table was a little too bright and shining in my eyes. We were ecstatic that breakfast was still being served after noon, so we both had breakfast. We both ordered biscuits and gravy I ordered a side of crispy bacon with mine. My husband also ordered an omlet. When the food arrived the gravy was cold. We asked for it to be heated, but they brought back hot, fresh, which was appreciated. We were disappointed that the biscuits weren’t soft fluffy biscuits, they were like a drop biscuit with a crunchy outside and they had cheese inside. Not what we were expecting. The gravy tasted good, but didn’t enjoy the biscuits with it. I had to ask 3 times for my bacon, and finally asked a different waitress to bring it. It was not crispy at all like I ordered it. We may return for lunch at another time to give it a second chance.

We were greeted by a friendly host who seated us. Apparently, they somehow ran out of breakfast menus, so Milady and I had to share one. They didn’t have decaf coffee, which was disappointing. Or they were unwilling to brew some. I’m don’t know which. We had breakfast, which was good. Grits were creamy.
