★★★★★ Outstanding lunch—worth a repeat visit
I’ve eaten lunches here twice, on back-to-back days, because it was that good. The food is better than the lunches I’ve had in Progreso, Mexico. Everything came out hot, crisp, and fresh. The lunches were warm with the right bite, and the meat was outstanding—well-seasoned, juicy, and clearly cooked with care.
I also met Miriam, the owner’s mother, and she’s fantastic—welcoming, genuine, and proud of what they’ve built. This is her son’s first venture, and he’s doing an excellent job. You can tell there’s real pride behind the food and the service.
If you’re anywhere near Edinburg and want a proper South Texas lunch done right, Tejanos is the place.

I got to admit I was a little concerned when we walked in and only saw one employee. We waited patiently and she came by with menus and told us more staff would be coming in to help. Not too long after, more staff came. They were all checking on every table, food was delicious, well portioned, and fresh. Cozy spot, with good ambiance. Will be back to try other items!

Looked for a place to eat on our way back to San Antonio. Not much was open on our way out, and on Sunday afternoon, but found this place on luck. The food was delicious! Fresh and served quickly. Definitely recommend and hope to be back soon!

I remember going on the first days it opened the food was great and service was excellent! Unfortunately now it’s a total different story. The place is empty and the service is not great. It was empty when we arrived, the server took a while to come to us. Once we order the food took more than 30 min. (and I repeat it was only us) the server was on her phone and dint even care about the timing on the food. I loved this place but not anymore the meat as dry and looked old, no flavor at all. I hope they step up their game because it’s a nice place to go relax and listen to good music while you eat tacos but unfortunately not today when we went it was a big no no!

Recommend their hamburgers . I got it with charro beans instead of fries lol. We have only taken out from here so can’t say much of service or atmosphere but do recommend their food.

I truly loved the service and the personal touch on our plates. Everything was delicious I had 1/2 chicken with trimmings, hubby had taquitos and my dear friends had the torta. Great company, dear friend Jesus and i had cucumber and lemonade.

Just bought half a chicken,, i don’t usually write posts, but, Ed and his staff were friendly, the chicken was well cooked, but not overcooked,
I MEAN THE HALF CHICKEN WAS LEGIT beans are tasty, the rice is delicious,,, however the rice seems kinda spicy, ( actually upon further review, the rice was perfectly seasoned, i forgot i added some of the roasted jalapeno in the rice, )
This was a respectable plato de comida.
Im a bit hard to please when it comes to buying food out, this food is well made!
