Decided to try this Pho place with my girls , the flavor was very good, I got the Pho with sirloin and brisket Large , my girls got sirloin kids size, only thing I have to say is the menus that people have posted are way outdated on Prices by about $5 or so $ more than what is shown as the Kids size was $12 and mine was $13 for a large. Otherwise it was very good

Been going here for over 10 years. My family have always chosen Pho Special as our go to spot. I’ve never had any issues with the food. Always good and tasty. I almost always order the Bun Bo Hue every time I come here. I also really enjoy their banh mi. I will say though, they do need to train their waiting and service staff a bit more. Sometimes they can be inattentive and a little rude. An example is how I will have to ask the server for something multiple times and it wouldn’t arrive until I’m halfway done with my food.

I like this place for a quick bite. The food is always fresh and the ladies in there are always nice and friendly. My only thing is that I usually have to flag one of them down to refill a drink, they don’t come and do it on their own. That usually is true for any other Vietnamese place I visit, but I’m a patient guy so it doesn’t usually bother me. Very clean as well

I was craving pho so we came here because years ago this was my go to spot. The flavor of the soup was mid as if it was lacking flavor. Our server was alright but not the greatest. The restaurant was very clean on the other hand. It was a good lunch date with my husband but something needs to be spiced up.

Good food! The beef in Bun Thit Nuong however tastes more like beef jerky. Little Saigon is still best in town for Vietnamese food. We chose this place because Little Saigon is closed on Monday’s.

What I like about Pho Special is they are always consistent. I always get the Pho Ap Chao or the Hu Tieu Nam Vang. It’s literally a toss up which dish I’m ordering that day. lol.

The pho is really good. The bahn mi sandwiches are good too. The peanut sauce is good, but the summer rolls aren’t rolled very tight and fall apart when you bite into them. The big problem is the service, or complete lack of it. My last several visits have been the same, the girls stay behind the counter texting on cellphones and never once check on me, the food or anything. Refills? Forget about it. In fact forget about me coming back any time soon. I shouldn’t have to remind the wait staff to put down their phones and tend to their ONE customer in the restaurant.

If you love Pho, you will love this place. If you don’t love Pho, you’ll still like it. They have wonderful authentic Vietnamese cuisine, but also offer some Americanized options for anyone who is not comfortable with chopsticks or fish sauce. And let’s not forget the Boba smoothies for dessert!
EDIT- Feb 2022: It’s still the best Pho place in town when My Tho isn’t open… They still give plenty of basil/lime/sprouts/pepper to add to your pho, still have fish oil at the table, and still have delicious broth.
One complaint: sometimes the broth is not hot enough. And that can be an issue, because several varieties of pho need the meat to be cooked in the broth. I didn’t mind that my sirloin was slightly rare this time, but I’ve definitely had to microwave it before when I’ve gotten take-out from Pho Special.
