The food- we had the fresh catch of the day (red snapper) and it was delicious. The fish tacos were to die for (had one fried and one grilled). We also had side salad and the cup of chowder. I would highly recommend the fresh catch and tacos.
The service- paka was so friendly: we enjoyed getting to know her and hearing about her life. The owner Greg was moving around and being very friendly, we loved meeting him! He made the whole dining experience sublime.
The view- ocean view unimpeded. What more could you ask for?
Highly recommend this small 7 min drive from hanalei. It’s absolutely worth it. It was our favorite dining experience and we found it on our last night here. Do yourself a favor and come in to this place.
Great place to grab a beer or food. Sit out side and enjoy the ocean surf. The folks there are super nice and easy to talk with.
Check out the adjacent gift shop for cool paraphernalia and fresh brewed coffee and some home made bakery (in the refrigerator).
This place has a cool old world Hawai’i vibe. Feels like a place where surfers would once have roamed. Minimalist decor and a old world tile floor make it perfect for people needing a rest bit from the beach.
Check it out.
It’s a cozy local spot with excellent service. These people care about their community and customers.
The food was delicious, local, and fresh. We got the poke nachos and catch of the day.
It’s right on the ocean and they have live music too!
The experience here was 10 times better than our hotel restaurant. We stayed at 1Hotel. We were so relieved and refreshed to eat here at a caring restaurant!
Thanks!
We made the mistake of stopping by after a day on Kauai’s North Shore. The place boasts about being the only oceanside eatery in the area but that’s where the appeal ends. The interior is a joke—sad string lights, mismatched tables, and zero effort in decor. It felt like they gave up halfway through setting up.
The food? A complete rip-off. We ordered a $34 salad that promised “island greens.” What we got was a pile of romaine lettuce and a few lifeless tomatoes. Adding chicken was a mistake—it was lukewarm, rubbery, and clearly microwaved. No grill marks, no flavor, just pathetic.
The flatbread was even worse. A soggy, misshapen mess slathered with balsamic, pesto, and those same sad tomatoes. It was like they cleaned out the fridge and called it a dish.
Hoping for redemption, we ordered a mai tai. What we got was a watered-down excuse for a cocktail that tasted like regret.
Some reviews rave about the “amazing ambience.” Are these people delusional? Sure, there’s an ocean view, but that doesn’t make up for the overpriced, subpar food and lackluster atmosphere.
The owner is clearly taking advantage of being the only option in the area, ripping off tourists with overpriced garbage. We’ve eaten everywhere—from Michelin-starred restaurants to hole-in-the-wall joints—and this ranks among the worst.
Do yourself a favor: skip this place. Drive the extra miles back to Hanalei and get something decent. Even a gas station granola bar would be a better choice.
