We decided to order some Sushi and some garden rolls for dinner to take to Valley Sky Glamping Friday night . Hubby thought that he had placed his order with the Dartmouth location . When we arrived at the dartmouth location they had no order for us and told us it was probably ordered at one of their other locations. We were already running behind but what’s a trip into halifax gonna do ? Delay us even more with traffic on a Friday afternoon . As we were driving into downtown halifax trying to find the location , the halifax location of Jukai was calling to make sure we remembered our order . Upon explaining the situation and that we were trying to find a place to park we arrived . The order was perfectly packaged and was well worth the wait . So happy that you had the garden rolls , they just made my night .

I’ve been here for lunch three times now and enjoyed a different dish each time. Today I tried the Shoyu Tuna Poke Bowl with rice base and Ponzu sauce. Delicious! I added a photo. This restaurant has lots of sushi options, various bowls, soups and noodle dishes. The staff is friendly, the dining area is clean and bright. I will definitely visit again.

JUKAI Japanese & Thai in downtown Halifax is a great spot when you’re craving both sushi and Thai food. The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of dishes from both cuisines. I especially enjoyed the special rolls. the Ocean 7 was delicious and as a salmon fan, the Salmon Lover Combo was a standout. The cheese wontons were another favorite: crispy, savory, and the perfect starter. Overall, this is a solid fast-casual option for fresh sushi or comforting Thai food right in the heart of the city.

Always an amazing experience! The presentation is beautiful every time, and it’s one of the best spots for lunch in downtown. The meals are quick, simple, but always delicious—and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely a must-stop whenever you’re in the area!

There’s this roll they used to make at this spot near where we live in Toronto and since that place shut down we’ve been unable to find somewhere that could make it to the same calibre. This place is so humbly price and so unsuspecting. We never would have guessed that they could make this roll EVEN BETTER than we remember. You guys, order the spicy salmon roll (with avocado) and add mango for $1. I love sushi and I’ve tried a lot of spots but nothing has impressed me as much as this place.

We originally placed a takeout order without expecting much, assuming the sushi and rolls would be the same as their buffet location in Dartmouth. But were we so wrong. The quality blew us away. Honestly, it was some of the best sushi I’ve had in Canada, flavourful, well-prepared, and reasonably priced.
The service was great too: ordering was smooth, and the menu was super helpful with plenty of pictures to guide you.
If you’re in downtown, I highly recommend checking this place out. You won’t be disappointed.

The teriyaki beef is not your typical teriyaki beef, but a full blown medium rare steak with teriyaki sauce. Amazing!
I was skeptical about the “sushi pizza”, but it was really good.
The aburi nigiri had a weird chemical aftertaste, I couldn’t finish it.

Lucus the best. I just arrived from Toronto and wanted something good to eat, but I wasn’t sure what to order. Lucas recommended the pork ramen, and honestly, it was the best ramen I’ve had in the last two and a half years. I’ve tried ramen in Toronto too, but nothing tasted like this.
I’ll definitely be coming back. Also, Lucas deserves recognition — he was friendly, professional, and made my experience even better. Great service from a genuinely good person.

We do like it a lot, and for the price it’s very affordable. This set was something around 65 plus tax. Would love to see more drinks options though

Ohmygod. I want to try everything on this menu. I was wearing my halloween pumpkin socks and feeling so hype for Fall, so I decided to try the PUMPKIN SPICE ROLL. I did not even know this was a thing?? It was absolutely bussin. I also got the mango pineapple roll, which was so so fresh and literally phenomenal. My friend got the pad thai (asked for no peanuts) and dude. It was amazing. We ordered it to-go from the counter and the presentation was great. The sushi ended up being plenty of food and I couldn’t even finish it, so I mucked it for breakfast the next day 😉
