Absolutely love this Billy Sims BBQ in Troy. The service there is the best! I rely on their experience to suggest the best options for the number of people I want to serve. They go out of their way to make sure I get the most value for my money, and they are never wrong.
Walked in on the way to my daughter’s house to help babysit their new 3 week old and bring dinner (wanting plenty of leftovers so they wouldn’t have to cook). I got their favorites: brisket, smoked chicken, jalapeno cheddar sausage, coleslaw, mac & cheese, baked beans and texas toast. Even threw in a dessert, dishes, plasticware, etc. which was much appreciated by the new totally-exhausted parents! They said it was the best meal they’d had pre-baby! Everything was hot, fresh and delicious! I’ve had them for catered events at work, and know they do an awesome job there too. They definitely have repeat customers in us.

I ordered online a 1/2 rack dinner with a B. Simms 7.00 Chocolate mousse stacker. When I opened my carryout at home I found I was actually given a cup of chocolate pudding. I called and was told since they’re not a corporate store they substitute Stackers with cups of pudding. The guy said that’s what they do. Shame….

We’ve been here multiple times and always loved the food, which is why this experience was so disappointing. Unfortunately, the service this time was unacceptable. The person who served us was rude, sarcastic, and openly disrespectful from the moment we interacted. His tone was offensive and arrogant, and we felt uncomfortable the entire time.
We were treated in a way that made us feel unwelcome and disrespected, to the point that we genuinely questioned whether we were being singled out. Regardless of the reason, no customer should be treated like this.
As much as we enjoy the food, the level of disrespect we experienced means we will not be returning.

It’s been years since I’ve been here but nothing has changed. The staff is extremely friendly and pleasant. Your order is taken and the food is bought to your table in a very timely manner. She asked us several times if we needed anything. We did not. It’s not your typical waitress-type restaurant. It’s really a level above fast food but miles better because you actually get what you ordered and correctly
It is time for Billy to do some redecorating. The booths came over with my ancestors and are torn or ripped in several places. Some of the tables felt like a permanent grime lives there. It needs a touch-up. Bad!
The food was good as expected. I had ribs, pulled pork, mac-n-cheese and fries. We can gone and throw the mac-n-cheese and cheese away with those beat up booths. Everything else was excellent. My husband had brisket, ribs, and sausage along with baked beans and potato salad. He said the sausage was the best from a BBQ place he’s had. He enjoyed his side items as well.

Delicious! And as far as I’m concerned, what every decent BBQ ribs place should strive to be. Big, meaty ribs, good sides and plenty of selections on the menu. The sauces are all pretty good, but they need a mustard sauce as well. Prices seemed a little high but based on quality and quantity, it’s worth it. Definitely worth a try for the BBQ lover in your life!
