Tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago. The decor and atmosphere is amazing. The tables feel very intimate while the restaurant feels spacious as a whole. The Irish soda bread appetizer was amazing. The scotch egg was good, but I didn’t necessarily care for the mustard sauce that came with it. It feels like something else could have complimented the scotch egg flavor better, or even possibly no sauce needed at all. My fish and chips were wonderful quality, though the flavor of the tartar sauce was a little different than what I’m used to. I can’t say I liked it, nor hated it. My son said his burger was great and my wife enjoyed her Shepard’s pie. The Guinness chocolate cake dessert was different…a little on the dry side. The whisky bread pudding was delicious! I appreciate that this establishment provided security to monitor the parking lot.
We will definitely be back to try more things.

Stopped in for dinner and was seriously impressed. The pilsner was crisp, cold, and exactly what you want from a pub pour. I paired it with their fish and chips, and it was spot‑on—light, flaky fish with a perfectly crunchy batter and fries that actually taste fresh. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff is friendly, and everything came out quickly. Easily one of the better pub meals I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. Chris and Kam will take good care of you!!!!!

Bog & Barley is one of the most unique spots in Memphis. The atmosphere alone makes it worth a visit the design feels authentic and inviting, like stepping into a modern Irish pub. The staff were friendly and attentive, and you can tell they want you to feel at home. The food was a highlight: the fish and chips were perfectly crispy with fresh cod, and the bread pudding with whiskey sauce was one of the best desserts I’ve had in the city. They also have an impressive whiskey and cocktail selection that pairs well with the menu.
It is on the pricier side, especially for drinks, and it can get pretty loud when the bar is full, so it may not be the best choice for a quiet dinner. But if you’re looking for great food, a lively atmosphere, and something a little different in Memphis, Bog & Barley definitely delivers.

I was mostly trying to see some high school classmates — one that I had not seen in over 15 years — when I visited this really nice restaurant. My friend that lives in the Memphis area suggested this place and it did not leave us disappointed. It was just all around great — the atmosphere, the food, and the drinks. It was so much fun seeing by childhood buddies over some really delicious food. The cream of cauliflower soup was very good as was the chicken sandwich and fries I chose to complete the meal. I also tried the roasted brussels sprouts and loved them. The service was fantastic. Our server turned out to be from a town near my home town in Arkansas and we talked about how the towns have changed. It just turned out to be a delightfully great lunch!

I was there on January 10th, a Saturday, around 3 PM. It wasn’t very crowded, and the service was a little slow at first, but everything was fine afterward! The service is friendly, especially Gabriel. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. It was a great place to visit, especially for me as a tourist. I will definitely come back! Thank you!

Great food. Fish and chips get a 5, bangers and mash a 4 but still great. Service was spot on and the place is beautiful and authentic Irish. Some great cocktails as well as a good Guinness pour. We will be back to try the Shepard’s pie.

Had a lovely meal of brangera and mash. My coworker had the meatloaf and was very happy.
The chocolate cake was warm and came with Carmel drizzle.
I wish I had time to come back and try another item.

This place has a very open and beautiful esthetic. The service was top knotch. We sat at the bar and my water was never empty, and the bartender made amazing meal recommendations. I had the 14oz Ribeye and I think it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had outside of Wagyu in Dallas. This ribeye was like butter and seasoned perfectly! The asparagus was was the perfect texture. Would recommend this place to anyone. I think it will be a must any time I’m in town!

Always great with a good beer and whiskey selection. I love that they have Guiness and Smithwick on draft. Make sure to try the duck fat fries as well. Also you can’t go wrong fish and chips. The Scottish salmon is also excellent. But make sure to save room for dessert and the bread pudding.

My husband and I came here for lunch. It was our first time in this restaurant. Another friend had made a post about it, and it peaked my interest for a couple of reasons. I love a good Irish pub it looked beautiful from the pictures I saw. When we walked into the restaurant, it did not disappoint! The bar area itself is really eye catching….gorgeous woodwork, nice back lighting, and tall ceilings. A huge variety of all kinds of whiskeys. As we were led to our table, my eyes were inundated with all the cool decor in this place! I loved it and thought it was all so pretty! There is much to take in! We were seated at a table sort of in the back, in front of tall bookcases filled with all sorts of interesting items! Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink order. A glass of wine for me and a drink called The 442 for my husband. They have a good menu and I decided to go with a chicken curry dish with jasmine rice and a wedge salad. I love a good wedge salad, and this one did not disappoint! So good! My husband ordered the Fish and chips and said it was very good. He is kind of picky about tartar sauce, and said this one was very good. Our server, Diego, was attentive and helpful. I asked him about the upstairs area and what was behind some velvet curtains I saw. He said we could go upstairs and look around, if we liked, so at the end of our meal, we did. Another beautiful space! Behind the curtains is a private dining area, which we also had a look at since no one was in there. Very nice. We enjoyed our experience at the Bog & Barley and think you will too! Go in and give them a try! Sit at that beautiful bar and have a drink. It’s a cool place.
