Food & server were fabulous! Had Lobster Bisque & it was so good. It was really loud so don’t expect to have a good conversation. We will definitely go back during a less busy time.

Giving 3 stars because although we arrived for our 6:30 reservation, the restaurant had no record of it. We showed our OpenTable confirmation, but the hostess said nothing appeared on their end. I highly suggest calling ahead to confirm your reservation until they sort out the online booking system.
It was a busy Thursday night, so they weren’t able to seat us at our reserved time. We ended up finding three seats at the bar instead. Thankfully, Jade took great care of us—she was friendly, attentive, and made the experience much better.
The cocktails were excellent, and the bar service overall was great. I recommend the lasagna and the Caesar salad, and the tiramisu was also delicious.

We’ve always had great experiences at this restaurant. Tonight was our 4th time in 5 weeks. GM Joe is very helpful and kind. Yvonne is wonderful to her customers. We’re already looking forward to visiting again! Everything is authentic and delicious!

We’ve been to the Farina’s Supper Club, Farina’s Cafe and Rocco’s. As a Valpo resident we couldn’t wait for the new Farina’s to open. Well it did not disappoint! From the drinks to the food to the service Farina’s Valpo does it right! Look forward to my next visit!

Very friendly people and wonderful food. I have had the ITALIAN BEEF, ORECCHIETTE WITH SAUSAGE, CHICKEN AL LIMONE, CHEESE CAKE AND TIRAMISU. (Not all in one sitting, I have been there three times this week)

Let’s start from the beginning. After almost walking the whole Valpo square in and out of almost every restaurant to try and get a table for my family and myself, only to be told 30-40 minute wait at almost every restaurant. I was about to hop back in the car after my wife found a parking spot when I saw an LED sign that said Cafe Farina. I ran across the street and shot my shot, the GM Pattie immediately helped! The hostess saw no seats available with reservations following. Pattie told the hostess to seat us at the last open table and that they would figure it out, and that they did. We started with the meatball app as well as the pizza bread. Meatballs phenomenal, pizza bread nothing to write home about…….until you dipped it into their marinara!! My wife had the Alfredo, and I had the braised brisket tortellini both of which were phenomenal! Tim, idk who Tim is but he must be a manager of some sort as well(Jack Black) was splendid he came by the table interacted with us and my child and made the whole experience fun! There was also a bus boy that thought a guest had accidentally left their jacket behind when they had just gone to smoke! Instead of taking everything so serious and life concerning I advised him what they were doing, he brought the coat back laughed about it and even dapped me up thanking me for letting him know. That young man should be proud of himself and take pride in his care for others. I saw his actual concern turn into a laughing matter hoping they had not known he touched their coat.(no big deal) Following the amazing dinner I had with my wife and son I had the pleasure of talking to Patty more to get to know the history of what Cafe Farina stemmed from, who the chefs were and what other restaurants were under the same Corp! I gave her my one piece of advice that she took with ease and care! With all of that said I cannot recommend this place enough, and I can’t wait to go back again and dive deeper into the menu!

I wanted this experience to met with greatness as I was being taken to dinner for a celebration on a promotion. Everything started out great and the menu was great. We picked out our appetizer (I was very disappointed to see an Italian restaurant charge for bread though, so we didn’t order any) and asked for wine recommendations from our server. She picked out a great red and white wine for us. It started to go downhill when we looked at the portion sizes (especially the ravioli) and lack of flavor. The only thing I found flavorful out of our meal (we ordered the pizza bread, ravioli, chicken parm, spaghetti & meatballs, and fries) was our fries… chicken parm lacked flavor big time. My waiter did not fill my water at all while I was eating as she was nowhere to be found. She wasn’t even the one who delivered my food. I did not see her again until well after I was ready to leave. Meatballs were dry and were not to my liking. The sauce was not to my liking, then again I make homemade sauce that tastes a lot more flavorful. I felt like I was packed in like sardines with how the table placements are. Please use this as constructive feedback. I am sure this place has a lot of potential.

My daughter and I visited first time on 2/21/26. The restaurant has a fun family style atmosphere. The energy in the restaurant was great. The hostess greated us warmly. We had a reservation and were seated timely. Our waiter was excellent. We ordered calamari for appetizer. I strongly recommend. My daughter ordered a pasta dish. I had chicken limone. I tried my daughters dish. I thought the sauce was a bit generic tasting. Like Chef Boyardee. My daughter disagreed. My grandparents came here from Italy. So I tend to be a bit picky of sauces. The chicken limone was ok and was served with no capers. I did expect some to be on the plate. We did order desert. The cannolis are delicious. We also ordered the chocolate cake. It was delicious and rich. Although I wouldn’t order the cake again. If you’re looking for a fun night, dinner out, this is the place. It’s not romantic or private.

2nd try at Cafe Farina. 1st at the Valpo location. Party of 5.
We ordered meatballs and mozz stick for app. The meatballs were mediocre. Fell apart. The cheese in the mozz sticks wasn’t melted. It held solid form like it wasn’t heated enough. Did not pull apart like a mozz stick should. Vodka sauce had some spice. Ordered the chicken al limone. There was no flavor in the chicken/breading or sauce. No lemon or garlic flavor as mentioned on the menu. Sauce tasted like they poured bland flour soup over noodles. My counterparts ordered the chicken parm. Server asked if they wanted pasta with it. The plate of pasta was the size of a small side plate for $11! They also said it was bland, no flavoring. Others ordered the Orreccheiette with sausage and said it was good. We had to ask for refills. Service was subpar. Needless to say, this restaurant has some work to do and flavoring if it wants to survive. We meet weekly for dinner and have already decided we won’t be back. Albano’s is the place for Italian in Valpo.

I did not have a good experience. We ordered the appetizers before the entrees. We waited 30 to 45 minutes before any food was brought to the table. When the entrees were brought out I had asked where our appetizers were. The server which was not our waiter had no idea what I was talking about. When the appetizers were finally brought out they were cold. The waiter told us that they were going to comp them, which they did. But for two appetizers, two entrees and three drinks the bill was going to be $118. For that kind of money I expect a better experience.
