At our Dothan, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I’m not from Dothan Alabama but I visited this location on two separate occasions and the food was horrible. Service was great though. The fries were cold and the fish overcooked. I came through drive thru on October 21, 2025 around 7:00pm and ordered my usual which totaled $14.96 and the Cole slaw was spoiled. I had to throw it away and the fries were old and cold as ice. This was my last time coming here. I will not be back or recommend anyone else to come here.

If you want good fish come here, if you want to be served with a bad attitude come here. You’ll get both and the grills are down alot of the time (at both locations) why is the grill down 2 hours before closing? And sometimes earlier. And please FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING STOP SAYING “BABY & LOVE” to random strangers it is unprofessional and inappropriate.

This had absolutely been the worst experience in any establishment. I placed a order as an online order through Captain D’s website. I placed it to be ready at 3:30 cause I was getting off work at 3 and needed to pick up a few frozen things before I left work. I figured okay it would be ready. Well I walk and I’m the only person in line and tell the young lady i was there to pick up an online order. She told the cooks hey that pick up is here for her order. While i was waiting 5 other customers come in and line up to place their orders. I’m still waiting and still waiting and in the mean time all these other customers are placing orders and then getting their food and well I’m still waiting. Just when I’m thinking okay I’m just fixing to get a refund cause my frozen food is I know thawed out in truck by now and I’ll just go elsewhere when the someone says hey where is that to go order. I here oh it’s fixing to come up. Lol. Yeah right. NOT. I’m still just waiting and waiting and waiting in the meantime Again everyone is still getting their orders they are placing. Finally I get my order and it’s not right. Here we go again. Waiting waiting waiting. Yeah I’m just not going back. First experience and last experience with this place. They food was not even good at all.

Went to this Captain D’s tonight and the service was awful! Placed my order in the drive thru. Got to the window and the young lady didn’t put but one of my orders in. She was very short while I was trying to place my order. I was rushed for time and asked for a refund. She gets someone I’m guessing the manager and he couldn’t get the amount he was suppose to give me back for the life of him! I gave her a 20.00 bill so a 20.00 bill is what I should get back! Not 10.50. None of them was dressed professionally. Haven’t been to Captin D’s in a very long time and tonight I was reminded why.

Cashier Tywanda does not know what customer service is! Bad attitude, pathetic and very rude. We have been going to Captain D’s for over 10 years and this experience we will not return. Other customers in the dining area was even talking about her attitude. I hate we didn’t get a refund and leave but we will NEVER be back!!

It was wonderful to have Captian D’S again I’ve missed them. The food was fresh and hot. The Cole Slaw was delicious highly recommended it if in the area.

Tonight’s visit was the worst ever. Out of Chicken, so I couldn’t get the supreme sampler, so I opted for the fish n shrimp without cocktail sauce because that wasn’t on the truck either
Everything was cold and tasted like it had been sitting all day before being boxed up.
Only items edible for the fish which I was only able to eat one of them after eating a cold limpy shrimp

Best post COVID fast food dining experience. Properly prepared and served with a smile in a jovial manner. Would definitely eat here again. Though I was on a road trip.
