Fantastic service, food and venue! Five stars all the way!
Brisket was phenomenal with perfect rendering, perfect fat layer and bark. Cheddar&Jalapeño sausage and chicken (dark meat) was also 5/5 – easy!

This place is serious about barbecue. You can see just from the wood pile to smoke the meat. The food is fantastic! We got various meats and everything is smoky and tender. I am particularly amazed with pulled pork. The meat is chunky rather than stringy, yet it is super tender and, to my preference, not sweet. The mac and cheese is thick, so as sauces. The slaw is refreshing as well. Oh pickles and macerated onions are free to grab! Capelo is now become a place when I think of barbecue in Peninsula if not the whole bay area!

Delicious barbecue joint in Redwood City. The beef brisket was amazingly soft and moist, possibly the best brisket I’ve had on the Peninsula. Pulled pork was juicy, and the Mac and cheese and creamed corn were both very good. Fast and friendly service. Small parking lot with limited parking, though.

Wth. Sold out of 97% of the menu at 2pm. Had grilled chicken 2 sausages and pulled left. No kids menu . Ordered 2 mac sides which the kids said were gross. Grilled chicken potato salad and baked beans tased less than. Pulled pork sandwich was the better option until it fell apart. Not worth the drive not worth the price. Paid almost 100 bucks no thanks. Food was very dry.

Best barbecue, this side of the Bay Area! Very relaxed, casual dining, like you were at a friend’s place; and it’s a party in the garage. The food is flavorful, and all the meats are tender and well-seasoned. I usually get the three-meat sampler, the brisket, pulled pork, and the jalapeño cheddar sausage. With an order of the 1-meat, 2-meat, or 3-meat samplers, you get two sides; my wife and I usually get the cilantro peanut slaw, with either baked beans, or mac & cheese. The barbecue sauces range from sweet mustard, to really spicy; enough to cater to everyone’s liking. You can also get dill pickles, pickled onions and jalapeños to accompany your meal. Fountain drinks, and an array of beers are available to complement the food.
There’s always a party vibe when we visit Capelo’s. They have widescreen TVs where you can watch games as well. There’s a limited number of parking slots in their compound, and street parking nearby. So if you’re looking for some fun and drinks, great food, come bring your family, or meet up here with friends to watch a game or something. The staff is friendly, and efficient, and they will make sure you’re having a great time, whenever you come to Capelo’s!

Wow! What a great place!? Super nice servers, especially the lady at the counter (so warm and wonderful), great beef brisket, delicious baked beans and scary good kale slaw (we were so hungry that we forgot to take photos..)
And the place is CLEAN. Every table was pristine and a staff member was regularly working on keeping it that way.
Highly recommend!
The atmosphere is also really nice, relaxed and cute with lots of potted plants that someone cares for very well.

Food was amazing, they have 4 sauces available along with free jalapeños, pickles &pickled red onions. Got the Brisket, Ribs & jalapeño / cheese sausage. It’s a little pricey but well worth the treat. This was $40

Smallest three meat place i’ve ever got at a bbq place. It wouldn’t be an issue if the meat was good, unfortunately it wasn’t. Brisket was thinly sliced lacking flavor and dry. Smoked Chicken was tender but lacked flavor. Mac and cheese was better than most bbq joints but left a sticky feeling in my mouth. Everything was just meh….

As a Texan, I must say that the ribs and brisket are just okay. The sides are decent as well. I wouldn’t recommend the cilantro peanut slaw or the seasonal sauteed vegetables. The desserts however looked phenomenal!

My favorite dinner is barbecued pork ribs and baked beans from Capelo’s. I’ve been to St. Louis and other so-called barbecue restaurants in the Bay Area, but none compete with the ribs that Castro and the boys offer on a daily basis. I don’t know how they do it, but for me, the meat tells the story and one doesn’t need either of the several sauces they provide.
Their online ordering is straight-forward, their prices are excellent, and I have been the beneficiary of party ordering from offspring in Arizona.
And by the way, parking is rarely an issue !
