Great authentic dishes and a decent seating layout. The food options are visible through the counter and everything is flavorful. The black beans and rice is pretty awesome and the portion sizes are just right for a full belly that you can rub after the last bite.

The community definitely knows about this place in a matter of seconds there was a long line, the counter lady was extremely nice and tried to take her time with us but it’s more of a fast food style place then a sit down restaurant. No waitress when we attended lunch room style. But that was ok because the taste made up for it.

My wife and I came to visit family on vacation, and we ordered rice and beans and Cubans over the phone. We showed up around 10 minutes later. Sandwiches weren’t started, and it was a slow day there, which wasn’t a good first impression.
After 20 minutes of waiting, we got our food, and the staff seemed rather polite. We headed home then to eat.
The Cubans were not anywhere near any other Cubans I’ve ever had. They didn’t have pickles, mustard, or ham. The bread was soggy and sticky, and as for the rice and beans, it tasted like steamed rice with ketchup. It didn’t taste remotely like it had sazon, adobo, sofrito, or any other seasoning. It wasn’t worth the price they charged.
Overall, I had high hopes for Nelly’s, but it’s not anywhere near the term “authentic.”
Living in a Puerto Rican household, I was hoping that I’d have a figurative “small taste of home,” but sadly, it didn’t meet my expectations.

I wish my comment was enough to affect the sales of this restaurant as I have never met such rude staff. I order a red snapper and when it was delivered the fish was raw on the inside, I called to inform them and they hang up the phone on me and refused to take my calls. I would never support this restaurant again. I know they don’t care but I wish they start loosing customer cause only then they will care.
