I am from Sioux City where I think the wings from Bob Roes Point after are the best ever, surprisingly these were very close! I travel often and feel like I have tried wings in many different places. The wings at this place were great. We came in without a reservation with a large group (our bad) and the waitress still provided superb service. Couldn’t remember her name!

Wow, just wow. The chicken wings were absolutely amazing. Crispy with a creamy, smoky wing sauce that gives a nice heat to your lips but won’t send you running for the milk. The corn poppers were also delicious and 3 kinds of exile on tap means you’ll have a decent selection of beers. Our waitress was really great despite it being very crowded. Definitely a gem of a find with dive vibes but good for gatherings. If you’re looking for good wings in des moines, these are some of the best I’ve had.

I chose Gerris based on recommendations for their wings. I debated leaving this review because I like to support small businesses, and the service itself was prompt and friendly.
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the food. I ordered a party platter of wings for pickup, and they were extremely dry and chewy—most were honestly inedible. The ranch was really good, but that was the only highlight.
This was especially frustrating because the wings were for a get-together, and it ended up being embarrassing as a host. Most of the food went uneaten, and everyone was still hungry, which really put a damper on the event.
At roughly $2 per wing, I would have expected much better quality. I’m not sure if this was a bad batch or an off night, but based on this experience I wouldn’t try the wings again. I would be open to updating or removing this review if ownership reaches out and makes it right.

If you into dive bars, bar food, and great service check out Gerris. They are know for their wings so that is what I went with. One sauce option but it was good. Not too spicy, kind of like frank hot sauce with some butter mixed in. Wings were huge. Cheese balls were good. Food was fast and service was on point. One female working the entire room and she killed it. Drinks never got empty.
