pretty average spot, i personally didn’t like the food that much… veg fried rice was the only thing that tasted somewhat good, fried chicken wings had a weird hard exterior and odd taste, kung pao chicken was super sour and had celery (??) not really similar to what i’ve had before. service was great though our server was nice and the little reindeer package at the end was very cute. overall, a nice place to sit down and eat if you’re hungry in the middle of a road trip… just don’t expect too much

Stopped here for lunch on our drive from Palm Springs to Las Vegas. It’s truly in the middle of nowhere, but a great find along that route. The fried chicken wings were surprisingly good and flavorful. The Kung Pao chicken, however, didn’t quite hit the mark for us. Service was excellent — very friendly and welcoming, which made the stop worthwhile. Overall, a convenient and pleasant lunch stop if you’re passing through.

Went to the China House in Lucerne Valley yesterday for dinner. I used to come here alot along time ago but found out yesterday during my visit that they have changed ownership since the last time I’ve been there. I don’t wanna sound like I’m bashing the new owners but this place no good anymore.

Below is a picture of Mongolian Beef (there was almost no beef) and “Fried Rice” (actually Spanish rice).

However staff were very friendly.

Sadly we will not be returning after yesterday’s visit.

Food is always amazing. Haven’t been disappointed with any entre we’ve tried. The one thing we always get is the wor wonton soup, the best in my opinion. The staff has always been attentive and very nice, which is greatly appreciated.

The food was alright but very expensive. They also changed us an extra rice that we didn’t even eat. Their version of wantons is a fried chip with a corner folded, nothing in it, what a waste. The chow maine noodles were way over cooked, they were so mushy. They only thing good to me was the orange chicken and fried rice. After eating here a coworker told me they stopped eating here because they found out that the owners take the waitresses tips. The food wasn’t even good enough to come back for in the first place but if that’s really how they’re doing their waitresses then I’ll never come back, I don’t support treating workers like that.

Life’s Good
The best family owned and operated Chinese food in the high desert!! I’ve been coming to this restaurant more than 17 years never had anything bad always so yummy. Conveniently is located on highway 18 Lucerne Valley, folks come from all over… Big Bear, Victorville even Oregon for this family’s awesome cooking. Ample parking including handicap plenty indoor seating but not during covid-19
take out only. For your convenience orders can be called in.

China House was great! I guess they have been here for many years, but we just found it. There is a real shortage of Chinese food restaurants in the High Desert. The food was great, and the people are very friendly and nice, and service was great! They have a really nice green tea, which is brought to the table with the water and the crispy noodles, it’s complimentary. We had a fried rice, a chow mien, and the Mongolian beef. Everything was really good. The fried rice was fluffy and good, with a nice amount of all ingredients, and good flavor. The noodles were equally good and tasty. The Mongolian beef was really good, the beef was tender and tasty. It had bamboo shoots as an ingredient, I’m not used to seeing that, usually it’s just the beef and onions, scallions, garlic, soy sauce…but it was pretty good too. We’ve been hoping for a good Chinese restaurant within reasonable driving distance from Apple Valley, and finally we found it! We’ll definitely be returning, and I recommend this place to anyone close enough to make it an option, it’s awesome!

Food is great, service is great and the owner is the best. Prices are good. We ordered War Wonton Soup and 4 main dishes which was a lot of food. Final bill was only $14.75 a person (4 people). It maybe a little drive but it is well worth it.

I usually get my food to go. But the waitresses that take my order and my $$ are very friendly and happy. Nice to go into an establishment where you are greeted with a smile. Decor is a little outdated but still a nice place to go for date night

My husband and I love a good casual spot with great food and this is definitely one of them! Never too busy, service is always fast and the staff is always friendly! The portions are large, it’s not pricey, and they have our favorite beer Tsing Tao. Couldn’t ask for more!
