Los Arroyos Mexican Restaurant and Take Out first opened March 1999 in a small 600 square foot space in Downtown Santa Barbara. 24 years later, we have three locations in California and two in Indiana. We serve fresh, homemade Mexican food crafted each day from the finest ingredients. Tony’s original recipes offer a variety of dishes from traditional fare to modern cuisine.

Really friendly cashier and the place is super clean with a modern vibe. It gets pretty busy, and the seating fills up fast. When I was there, I saw four Santa Barbara police officers eating, which felt like a good sign.
The carne asada taco was full of flavor, tender meat, a little smoky, and seasoned just right. The rest of the food tasted fresh and had that real, authentic Mexican flavor.
Parking’s not the easiest, but once you’re inside, it’s totally worth it. The salsa bar is awesome with lots of choices, all fresh and tasty. Definitely coming back.

It was fine but there are far better options. One thing important to note, if you’ve seen a menu or an advertisement that includes margaritas here, think again. It’s a wine cooler, not a margarita. They dress it up and it tastes ok, it’s just not a margarita and shouldn’t be listed as such. We had the ceviche for an appetizer and if that was the only thing being graded this place would be all set. Bright, fresh and delicious but that’s where my praise stops. I had the tacos de mar. Fish tacos. Bland and tasteless. The beans and rice were fine but, you know, it’s beans and rice…..The wife enjoyed her empanadas but for me, a wine drink masquerading as a margarita and forgettable food can’t be rewarded with anything more than three stars.

This was an average Mexican restaurant. The food was average. I probably would not return. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The serving sizes were generous quality was average at best.

Food was delicious. You order up front and then they bring it out to you. Shall eating area but relaxing. Good music. The burrito mojado smothered in cheese and the veggie tacos were both good. The chops are served and then you have your choice of salsas that are self serve. We enjoyed our lunch there.

First time going here. Best choice we made. First of the service from the girl at the register was excellent. She guided us to the best choices and gave us her opinion on what to order as we asked for it. The place is clean and the service is great. The food now was delicious. Very good flavor and large portions. Loved how everything was plated. The prices were great and affordable. Will definitely be going back for their Green enchiladas.

The food was amazing. We got chips and guacamole and the guac was fresh and perfect. The whole fam enjoyed their food. My steak tacos were soooo good, tender steak and the onions were cooked perfectly. They have a nice salsa bar too. If you’re around, you won’t regret stopping here. My children 8 & 6 loved it too. Almost forgot to mention the beans! The beans were soooo good and so was the rice.

Great little Mexican food gem in downtown Santa Barbara. Unpretentious, counter orders delivered to dining area. The crab meat enchiladas were amazing. Salsa bar, fresh pico and several varieties of home made salsas in varying heat levels.

Really enjoyed the Chile Relleno. I was happily surprised as I had just come back from a trip to Mexico City, and it tasted just like home!
