Simple, traditionally decorated restaurant offering an extensive range of familiar Chinese dishes.

I had a great experience at Dai Tung. The food was flavorful, especially the entrée, it came out hot, fresh, and with a really good sauce. The portion size was generous, and everything was plated nicely.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the veggie roll was a bit cold on the inside even though the outside was hot. Not a deal-breaker, but noticeable.
Overall, though, the service was friendly, the food tasted great, and I’d definitely come back. Just hoping the veggie rolls get a little more heat next time!

❌❌Be careful when eating here . I placed a to go order of chicken with vegetables from Daitung Chinese Restaurant Mission on 9/27/25 around 2:45 p.m. Well let me tell you, after my first bite, I noticed a light green worm on the mushroom! We went back to get a refund and politely requested a manager. An older gentleman of Asian decent wearing glasses, rudely raises his voice and says, I am the owner, what. I told him there was a worm on my food. He inspects the food, sees the worm and says “ give me your card”. I give him my debit card and he refunds the money. He did not say a word after . No sorry, nothing! A female worker beside him apologized to me and says there is sometimes bugs, in their fresh vegetables. I told her it is their responsibility to wash their vegetables. Obviously they are not washing the vegetables and who knows what other violations are happening inside their kitchen. I had to file a police report because, I am pregnant and concerned for my health now.

It’s a matter of time till someone ends up in the hospital due to a food Bourne illness. There was a huge Maggot in our plate this past Saturday . We Took back the food to get refund and the owner was extremely rude during the whole encounter . Never have I had this type of service in my years of living.

I have been a patron of Día Tung in Mission, TX for over 10yrs. BEST CHINESE FOOD IN RGV! They recently revamped their restaurant with new tables and dishes. The Atmosphere and Ambiance is Great. Service is Great. Food is EXCELLENT! I had Kung Pao Beef, Beef and Broccoli, Fried Dumplings, & Fried Wontons. I also had had Hot&Sour Soup but finished it before I took a pic ! Also dinner portions can feed easily feed 3 people per plate ordered. They come with your choice of fried or steamed rice. Order the egg rolls they are phenomenal.

Our first time here yesterday, Saturday just before 5pm. We got seated right away and was not too crowded. We ordered a big hot and sour soup, chicken fried rice, spring rolls and crispy shrimp in like a sweet garlic sauce which comes with plain white rice or veg fried rice, we got the white rice. The service was good and our waiter was nice. The only thing is, my fried rice has NO taste, there is no vegetables, scallions, onions in it, just some chicken and red whole chilly in it because I asked for it to be spicy, which by the was in no way spicy at all. The shrimp and soup were good, but not great. The menu is big and I’m sure other dishes on there are good, but I’m just giving my honest reviews from what we ordered and the taste. Not sure if I will give them a try again.

Yum Yum Dai Tung! Those are the first few words that roll off my tongue, and the rest of the flavors, are deep inside my soul. This was my second time back to this fabulous place. The first time, I was so overwhelmed with the savory flavors, the size of the portions, the ambience, and the staff, I forgot to take pictures and write a review. The first time around, I ordered steamed chicken with broccoli, vegetable, lo mein, orange, chicken, and chicken fried rice. I definitely recommend all those dishes just mentioned as they were super savory, brought to the table, so warm and fresh, and most of all, no flooded in sauces. The second time around, I ordered almond chicken, chicken with Chinese vegetable, beef with Chinese vegetables, an order of fluffy white rice, and an order of fried rice. Those three dishes I just mentioned were made with love, served warm and quickly, and we can’t forget about that delicious wonton soup. Hands down, the best Chinese food in Mission TX. Stop by and have yourself a fix of the good stuff. If my review was helpful to you, click on the thumbs up, tab, or like, and let me know how I’m doing. Don’t forget to follow me for upcoming hotspot reviews. Until then, munch away.

Very prompt service. Classic Chinese restaurant atmosphere, nothing over the top. The food came very quickly and was very hot and tasted excellent. Price was very reasonable for these days.

Good fast service and LOTS of food. Unlike many other places they have their lunch menu in effect on Saturday, and their lunch portions are huge. I thoroughly enjoyed my Chicken with Cashews (it also has lots of mush). There was enough left for another meal. I will be returning.

My experience was terrible. The meat was undercooked, which completely ruined my meal—I couldn’t eat the rest. When I mentioned it to the waiter, he seemed indifferent, as if it wasn’t a big deal. They didn’t offer any kind of discount—not that I would have accepted, but the gesture would have been appreciated. Instead, all I got was, ‘We told the cook already.’ Needless to say, I won’t be returning.
