Their “signature” soup dumplings (spicy pork) took over 15 minutes to come out and were barely warm. Maybe they would have been better piping hot but they were not very good and just made me sorely miss joes shanghai in Chinatown NYC.
Waiter was nice but not very attentive, was waiting for several minutes for him to come bring the check / a box. It was midday weekday lunchtime not very busy (maybe 5-10 tables full in the whole restaurant of 20+ tables with multiple servers)
The Dan mein short rib was tasty.
I would maybe come back with a group to try more things to split because I do like this kind of cuisine, but would probably not return by myself.

We had no idea we were in for such a treat! It was a random first visit because we were in the area. We glanced at the menu posted on the window and decided to go inside. Zander was awesome!! He made us feel super welcome and helped us select several DELICIOUS menu items. The food came out so quickly and it was piping hot! We didn’t waste any time indulging that I forgot to take pictures of the food. ♀️ Trust me, it presented beautifully and tasted great. I will definitely recommend this place for all ages. I grew up on Chinese food restaurants and they have gradually disappeared. But found one of the best lo mein noodles in Playa Vista. So yummy!!! You need to stop by because the menu has such fresh food to order. I love the spicy marinated cucumbers. If you love Chinese then this is the modern version but with those big noodles that we grew up on. YUMMY!!!

Best Asian cuisine I’ve had since being in LA from the East Coast! Their garlic string beans are like no other others, and I would eat five orders as my meal. Everything is flavorful, but not overwhelming, and each dish compliments each other so nicely. Portions are perfectly sized. When dining in, the service is exceptional, and the food Has always been consistent in quality!

I love soup dumplings! If you do too, this is your place. It got quite loud later in the evening, but the food was very tasty. The dumplings were the highlight, and the soup and pan fried dumplings gave just enough variety to dinner. We also loved our side plates, especially the Short Rib Mein as well as the scallion pancakes for an appetizer. I want to go back very soon, and get more soup dumplings!

I am completely addicted to ROC’s dumplings and frequent their delivery. The staff here is on top on it and everything always comes out fresh and piping hot. I’ve tried pretty much everything on the menu and have never been disappointed, but my go to dishes are the pan fried chicken dumplings, veggie fried rice, popcorn chicken, sauteed shrimp and always the egg flower soup…its incredible!

Had a great visit. I’m not sure any of the flavors were too authentic, but they were absolutely delicious. I suppose that’s why the name is ” modern” not traditional. We absolutely enjoyed everything and liked the spin they put on some of the food. The service was quite good and the food kept coming in a timely manner. I will definitely be back.

Great place for a quick super tasty Chinese food stop. Great dumplings, really enjoyed the salt/pepper tofu and the authentic veggies. Have been back many times and will return for sure. Keep up the great service and fantastic kitchen!!

Food is great, i liked the short rib fried rice, the beans as side, the three cup chicken . Food arrived quick and the server was very kind and professional.
I was disappointed because of some kid’s nostopping screaming, i think the restaurant manager should have kindly said something to the kid’s parents because it s very annoying for the other guests.

Came here for a small birthday lunch! Atmosphere was lovely and the tables were clean. Service was amazing! Food was delicious as always. We got the pork soup dumplings as well as the pork pan fried dumplings which are just to die for. Loveee the short rib dan mein. [Suggestion!] Get the noodles first and ask to get the dumplings later (after like 10min) so that you have time to eat the noodles without the dumplings getting cold (or you could just eat fast lol). If you’re more of a slower eater though, 100% recommend so that you can enjoy everything.
