So we went to Sella’s, which is this pizza place right off the WSU campus. And listen… the moment you walk in, you know exactly where you are. There is Cougar stuff everywhere. It’s like the building itself majored in school spirit.
Now, we were there during winter break, so the place was pretty empty. And I don’t mean “slow night” empty. I mean the kind of empty where you walk in and immediately start apologizing, like “Hey… sorry for being customers.”
But the first thing we notice—before the pizza, before the TV, before anything—is the wall of crayon‑drawn placemat art. And some of these kids… I don’t know what they’re teaching in Pullman, but these drawings were incredible. I’m looking at a crayon drawing thinking, “I can’t draw this well with a computer.” One of them had shading. With crayons. I didn’t even know that was allowed.
Then there’s this giant TV on the wall, and because we were basically the only people in the building, the host comes over and asks if there’s anything we want to watch. And we’re like, “Uh… Home Alone?” You know, joking. And she just nods and puts it on. Immediately. Like we had just purchased the restaurant.
I’ve never felt more powerful in my life.
I’m sitting there eating pizza while Kevin McCallister defends his home, and I’m thinking, “This is what success feels like.”
We came for the gluten‑free pizza, which—if you’ve ever had gluten‑free anything—you know the bar is usually “edible.” But this was fantastic. Like, “I forgot it was gluten‑free” fantastic. And the calzones? They were huge. The kind of huge where you start doing math in your head, like, “Is this still one meal? Or is this now a multi‑day commitment?”
Everything was great. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the unexpected authority over the TV programming. If you want a place that feels like a cozy Cougar clubhouse where the pizza is amazing and you might accidentally become the manager for the night, Sella’s is your spot.
Five stars. Would absolutely return—especially if they’ll let me pick the movie again.
Calzone was highly disappointing- just direct chunks of artichoke, marinara and extreme cheese squished in as a whole.
The pricing is high going by the amount of portions. Staff is sweet and welcoming. Ambience – absolutely adored it!
The calzone came out piping hot and there’s just something really fun about slicing into a hot doughy bun filled with cheese and other goodies. The crust was damn good too.
Being more old than young we took half of it home and had it for dinner also. Having the occasion to visit WSU again I am planning to return and try another calzone, with my wife placing a takeout order with me as well.
Food comes in generous portions.
Their calzones was better than pizza to my taste.
They give everyone a piece of paper and crayons to draw and paint and they put those paintings on the wall.
Kids love this experience.
