Relaxed operation in a shopping center featuring a sushi bar along with other Japanese specialties.

I honestly think this place offers one of the best sushi experiences in the U.S. when it comes to quality for the price. The sushi is incredibly authentic, with a level of quality that’s hard to find anywhere nearby (or even within a 4-5 hr drive). Our favorite omakase, in particular, is an absolute steal . We are sure you would be paying 2-3× more if this were in a larger city. We’re just so grateful to have a place like this❤️
It’s about a 30–40 minute drive from Ann Arbor, but 100% worth it. Ever since discovering this spot, we’ve stopped going to other sushi places around us
Amazing food and service, and our favorite Korean chef is a huge reason we keep coming back again and again

If you love Japanese food, you absolutely have to visit this place!
I love the way the restaurant looks, it truly makes you feel like you’re in Japan.
The food is incredibly fresh and delicious, the service is super fast, and I think the prices are very fair.

Sharaku is a cozy, welcoming spot. We were greeted kindly and seated right away, which set the tone for a great meal. The warm towels at the start were a nice touch. Everything we ordered was super fresh and full of flavor. We asked about a noodle stir fry and ended up with a soup — not what we expected, but it was still tasty. Overall, a great experience

I was told this is the best Japanese restaurant around, and was extremely unimpressed. Before we went my wife showed me a picture of the ramen which we thought looked terrible, and we should’ve trusted that, and not tried the place ourselves. Poor service, overpriced, which I could overlook, but the food is nothing special. The sushi rice isn’t right, fish wasn’t fresh, and tastes like any random sushi restaurant 5 minutes from your house. It’s insane this plate cost $38 and they give you thin slices, the worst cut of salmon, and a crab stick roll. Crab stick, seriously? Not to mention that pathetic little glob of Wasabi straight out of a tube. Come on. Then $10 for 4 pieces of sushi with a little tofu inside, and $18 for a little tiny bowl of rice with some tea poured on it and a few pieces of fish. I was hoping this would become a regular spot for me, but instead I won’t be back. Awful.

Truly the best food and the best service you will ever have. Hands down. No sushi place will EVER top this one.

So worth trying! It resembles Japanese restaurants in Japan a lot! The sushi is so good! Lunch time the menu is different, the salmon was so bomb!

I have passed by here to many times. And for once i entered. The atmosphere was humble and authentic and the food. Oh wow. Ive never had better and finer food. I felt warm on the inside and the food was not just food, it was art. It was clean, tasted pure and fresh. The sushi chefs were humble and kind. They treated me happieness. But the star of the show , was Yuki. Yuki was so kind and so very hard working. Her eyes lit up with happieness and honest intent for kindness and raiated a sense of epicness that screamed perfessionalism and hard work. If anyone deserves a raise it was her. She made me smile and i wanted to hug her. But the managers, were so knowledgable, so cool and just outgoing. How could you ask for a finer place. A gem hidden, a place where you eat and fill youself and you feel content, not full, but as though you went to japa, the food qulaity is so good so clean and hoenest, i will be reccomending friends here forever. Its been here for 27 years and i want another 100.

Very classy vibe with excellent service. Very fair prices for this level of sushi. The sabano oroshini mackerel stew hot appetizer was exceptional

This was my first time at Sharaku and it won’t be my last. The sushi was so fresh. My favorite was the toro and scallion roll. But my favorite part of our dinner were the appetizers. We had lightly fried Hokkaido scallops, grilled mackerel, and oysters with a ponzu sauce, to name a few. Everything was great. I highly recommend it.
