The Starbucks location on Olive Street in Porterville consistently stops taking orders around 9:45, even though their posted closing time is 10:00. Every other Starbucks in town continues taking orders until their actual closing time, except this one.
As it gets closer to 10, the staff begins working extremely slowly and then stops taking orders whenever they feel like it, well before closing. To make it worse, when you drive through the drive-thru, they avoid the windows entirely instead of communicating what’s going on.
It comes across as very rude and is honestly disappointing to see. If the store plans to stop serving at 9:45, then the closing time should be posted honestly instead of wasting customers’ time. What made it worse is we waited in the drive thru for 20 minutes just for them to close early in our faces.

This evening, 10/26/25, I went to this Starbucks for the second time (I live out of town) and my experience was the same as the first time. The employees were very pleasant and quick. I wish I had asked for names so that I could mention each one. There were two young women and one young man working. I was helped by the young ladies. I ordered food and hot tea, so I can’t say anything about the coffee drinks. 🙂 I agree that this location has a very difficult parking lot, but the inside atmosphere was pleasant and so were the employees.

I have years of drive-thru experience, so I understand professionalism, workflow, and customer service. What I experienced here fell far short. Ashley H. turned a simple drive-thru interaction into a completely inappropriate and uncomfortable experience. She made unsolicited comments and dragged out the transaction even though our order was clearly ready.
Her behavior was unprofessional, disruptive, and disrespectful not just to me, but to the establishment. No one should have to deal with harassment or awkward, prolonged interactions at a drive-thru window. This incident speaks volumes about the lack of boundaries and awareness on display, and it was deeply disappointing to experience.

I had a very disappointing experience at this Starbucks location. The staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. They didn’t greet properly, showed no interest in helping, and their attitude made the whole visit uncomfortable. The service quality here is far below Starbucks standards. I won’t be coming back, and I hope management seriously improves the staff’s behavior.

Stopped by to grab food and there were only two people working. None of them greet us. I asked to use the restroon and the lady said she couldn’t give me the code and she had to open the for me but she couldnt do that because she was taking an order… that she could finish taking the order or open the door for me. Why not have a code or a key when you are so busy to open the door as needed? Well… after waiting, she started taking another order and forgot to open the door for me.
