Very Nice place to go celebrate an occasion. Food was delicious, staff was fantastic & the views were lovely. We ordered a bit of everything on the menu and none of it disappointed. Had a couple drinks from the menu & off the menu, bartender seemed to have good taste. Definitely will be coming back soon with more family and friends. Also had live music when we were there. Some might enjoy that others might not.

Overall a good restaurant with a nice patio with great views and great cocktails and wine list. Tried a number of dishes and they were pretty good. The steak was cooked well but wasn’t a fan of the fries that was undercooked and then drenched in cheese sauce. The fish was also cooked well. Also the live music was a nice touch but a little too loud so made it very difficult for us to talk.

Wwle visited Perch for a date night, and it was such a great experience. The rooftop is great and special. The staff were welcoming from the moment we arrived, which added to the whole vibe.

We ordered the salmon and the steak, and both dishes were delicious, flavorful, well-cooked, and honestly even better than we expected because we ordered the baked Brie for the appetizer and it was average. We really enjoyed everything about the night.

We made it a little easier for our staff by ordering everything to share (1 of each for entree and appetizers) so he didn’t need to remember who ordered what. As for desserts, we had 2 of the bread pudding. We felt that it was great value as the food like the beef, chicken and seabass were excellent. Even the puree, polenta and risotto that came on the side, were delicious as well. Cocktails were quite expensive by Singapore standards at $18++ each but with the cool 18 degrees outdoor temperatures, skyline views and live music, it was quite an experience…

Perch in Downtown Los Angeles is one of those rare places that makes the city itself feel cinematic. Perched high above Pershing Square, it offers a panoramic view that stretches from the shimmering skyline to the Hollywood Hills. It’s no wonder that this French-inspired rooftop restaurant draws both locals and travelers looking for that quintessential LA evening. Yes, it can get crowded, especially on weekends, but it’s part of the energy and allure. The key is to lean into it, find your rhythm, and let the ambiance carry the night.

The food here is consistently excellent. The French onion soup is one of the best in the city, rich and deeply caramelized with a perfect layer of melted Gruyère. The steak frites are a signature dish for good reason: perfectly cooked, served with crisp, salty fries and a velvety peppercorn sauce that feels indulgent but balanced. The moules frites are another standout, swimming in a white wine broth fragrant with garlic and herbs. For something lighter, the roasted beet salad and the seared scallops both show real finesse.

The cocktail list is thoughtful, with house specialties like the Hemingway daiquiri and a lavender martini that pairs beautifully with the sunset. Romantic, delicious, and unforgettable, Perch is one of LA’s rare spots that truly earns its reputation.

This place has potential, but the reality is awful. The furniture is old and crooked, everything feels dirty, and the glass tables and windows are covered in streaks and smudges.

The food is completely mediocre. Nothing memorable and definitely no “wow” factor.

The service is by far the worst part. We never even had an actual waiter — every time a random person came to our table. It honestly feels like there is no manager running this place at all.

We ordered drinks and told the host and staff that we were going upstairs (it’s a two-floor restaurant). When we came back, all our drinks were gone and they were already seating other people at our table. On top of that, they later brought the wrong drinks.

I asked for the manager, and we were told they were coming. After waiting an incredibly long time, the manager still never showed up.

Honestly one of the worst service experiences I’ve had in a restaurant.

It has a rooftop and a great environment. You need to go to the 13th floor first and then transfer to the 15th floor. It offers dining options and also has an outdoor area. The 16th floor is the rooftop, where the night view is fantastic. The food taste is just so-so, but the environment adds a lot of points. Finally, they also gave us three glasses of champagne, which was really nice.

Perch is, as always, beautiful, stylish, and atmospheric. The view, interior, and overall ambiance are superb; it’s a pleasure to simply sit and enjoy the atmosphere.
However, we were in for a small surprise: we arrived for lunch at 3:30 PM, but it turned out they were still serving breakfast at that hour. So, our “lunch” consisted of egg dishes and omelets, enthusiastically drinks with alcoholic cocktails.
Not the most typical scenario, but perhaps this is the perfect balance between brunch and early aperitif. “Original” – Perch knows how to surprise…

I usually don’t do long reviews, but here we are. This review is also the average of 8 people combined (our table).

Overall score total of 2 out of 5.

We made a birthday reservation party of 8 for Sunday 10/27 @7:30pm. We arrived around 7:35/40pm as due to La traffic and parking situation, plus elevator wait to go up as it is small. To start off it felt fine and we were ready to have a great experience for a birthday celebration. But as we were seated, it was a long wait for the server to just come and introduce themselves. Then even after they did it took another 20/30 minutes for them to take our orders. Since it was busy and we had a big group, we had to get the pre fix combo meals. The first dishes for our group took another 15/20 minutes and same thing for the course/entree and deserts. The funny part is that the bussers would also keep coming to us and asking if we were done. Even if we were the plates get all taken away but our next dish was another wait. On top of that our server was no where to be found the entire time, which also made no sense when the 20% gratuity was added to our bill by default already. Made it seem like since they know and we know we are getting auto charged for gratuity they can do whatever and they’re still getting their tips. Then, when my entree came it was a steak frite, I asked for medium well which I usually get and has never had a problem at other restaurants. But when I got it at the Perch, it was different very rare and I told them nicely and the server took it back gave me a new one, which the steak was honestly not any better and if anything was more rare. I kept wanting to look on the bright side but it was just getting worse. Anyways they gave birthday girl the desert with a candle, but tell me why another table outside in the patio outisde got the whole team (all the servers) to sing for them. When we only got the busser who brought out the desert and sang happy birthday halfway and just left…. I don’t know if they normally sing for birthdays but we felt racially discriminated as there were no Asians inside the restaurant at the time as well. Well as it ended I was discussing with our group about the service and food, pretty sure a server heard us talking about REVIEWS and YELP, so then somehow the manager runs over and asks us about our experience. We told him a little about this overall experience and he offered us to go checkout the rooftop and gave us drinks. But he lowkey didn’t make it any better because we didn’t ask for drinks or talk about our genuine experience to get free drinks and rooftop bar entry. It wasn’t our point, but I do think overall the Perch needs better teamwork and everyone on the same page because why did it take forever to get our food and for our server or anyone to come assist us. On top of everything it wasn’t busy too. For an upscale restaurant that we are paying each $73 for, I would expect better service and food.

Anyways sorry for the long review, but on my behalf and my group we just didn’t feel like this was an upscale 5 star restaurant experience.

Everything about this place impressed me—from the incredible food to the stunning views. I stopped by during happy hour and was blown away by how flavorful and well-prepared every dish was. It’s the kind of menu where you can’t go wrong with any choice. The rooftop lounge is a big highlight, offering the perfect setting to relax with a drink and enjoy great conversation. Whether you’re there for the scenery, the food, or the atmosphere, this spot is absolutely worth a visit and easy to recommend.
