On the way to Beechworth, Victoria I stopped by to use the facility and get a coffee to stay awake. This is one of the beautiful cafes to enjoy coffee and sweets, they serve Frittata, which is a healthy and light meal to have before a long drive. Recommendation: Frittata is better to have it with salad

During my trips through Gunning, Merino Cafe is always a must. I love the atmosphere, the coffee, and the pastries, which could be a little less sweet for my taste. Nevertheless, it’s a highly recommended place with always friendly and smiling staff.

(It would be great if the opening hours could be kept as advertised, or updated on Google. I’ve unfortunately found the café closed earlier on several occasions.

We stopped at Merino Café St Gunning on our way to the Snowy Mountains to grab a quick coffee, and I’m so glad we did! The staff were super friendly and welcoming. They don’t have official baby change facilities, but they were so kind and let me use their back area to change my baby — I really appreciate that. The place is cozy, clean, and well looked after. And the coffee was honestly so good! Big thanks to the lovely staff — we’ll definitely be stopping by again. ☕️

Kinda rustic old building with nice cafe.
Pretty good tucker, and the gals are friendly. Nice joint to stop for a break and a feed on the way through. Nice outside spots to sit in backyard and on the street.

The food was tasty and coffee was decent, however it’s the prices which get me. It’s good in a pinch but their breakfast role simply charges $2 to put spinach on an egg and bacon butty. Cakes were small and disappointing, with prices I didn’t see in the cities even. Spacious but slow environment, staff were just milling about and took a minute to notice anyone at the counter, friendly enough but it’s no one’s passion project

Great cafe in a beautiful old building with good old fashioned country service. This cafe is a gem – the food is great and so is the atmosphere. Staff are lovely & you can sit inside or out the front & in non COVID times – the cute courtyard is open too. We had the smoked salmon omelette & it was very good. They even had fresh cream for my coffee. Win win!!!

A wonderful find on our day trip. The coffee was great, the burgers (Aussie & Lamb) were absolutely delicious and the passionfruit slice was divine. Plenty of seating inside and a delightful garden terrace area out back. Definitely will go again.

Great little cafe to stop in and have a bite to eat. The pumpkin soup was awesome. Tastes just like homemade soup and it came with multigrain toast which was toasted perfectly.
Also got a take away slice of Lemon Meringue Cheesecake and White Chocolate and Macadamia slice with a Anzac Biscuit base. Both were delicious.
Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.

I had booked for our cycling tour group of 10 to have lunch at the cafe and we were looked after brilliantly by the staff including being allowed to park our bikes in their private laneway. All our group were impressed by the means they ordered and by the drinks choices. I really enjoyed my scones, jam and cream plus my mango smoothy and my flat white at the end of lunch really hit the spot and prepared me for our ride back to Breadalbane.

Busy little cafe for a Sunday brunch.
Just used google to find a cafe on our way home from Gundagai to Sydney.
We also purchased take away home made slices.
If the weather was better we would of sat outside.
