The restaurant has a wonderfully relaxed and laid-back atmosphere, making it the perfect place to unwind. Our server was exceptionally friendly and took the time to explain the history of the restaurant and their signature Café de Paris sauce, which added a thoughtful personal touch to our visit.
We of course ordered their famous entrecôte, served with secret butter sauce. The steak was tender, juicy, and full of flavor, and the sauce added a perfectly balanced, rich touch without overwhelming the meat.
We try this type of French entrecôte wherever we go, and this one truly stood out — a delightful combination of classic technique and signature flavor. The portion size was generous but not excessive, leaving us satisfied yet comfortable.
Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, combining delicious food, attentive service, and a cozy, welcoming ambiance — right across the street from the French Embassy! We’ll definitely be returning to savour their entrecôte again if we have a chance.

Absolutely outstanding experience at Cafe de Paris!
I came specifically for the entrecôte and it was hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had – perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and that famous Cafe de Paris butter… pure magic! The fries on the side were crispy perfection and the green salad was fresh and beautifully dressed.
The restaurant itself is stunning: elegant, classic Parisian decor with that timeless brasserie charm, white tablecloths, warm lighting, and such a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. The service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful.
If you want an authentic, delicious, and beautifully classy Parisian dining experience, this is the place.
Merci beaucoup, Café de Paris! ❤️

After attending the open day at the French consulate, we continued our day with lunch at a French restaurant across the street. We were greeted by friendly staff, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We’ll be back.

This restaurant is a great find and next to the Lennon wall so you can see a tourist site and follow with a fancy dinner. As far as the places we went this was the most expensive meal I had in Prague. The onion and cheese soup was good and if you like well expressed onion flavor then it is a solid choice. Not much is provided but it is good. The salad comes with some sort of horseradish vinaigrette I think. It was a mixed experience for our table, but I liked it. The steak they are know for was good and I’d save a piece of bread to finish the leftover sauce on the plate if I were you. I’d say a soup and an entree is enough to sate, but not fill the average person which is good if you are planning to walk a bit more afterwards. All in all it was a good experience, however, two minor detractors made the experience less good for me. First, when I asked if they had a cocktail menu the response I got was a little bit like I had asked a dumb question. Second, the creme brulee was not very good. It comes in a wide and shallow dish and has some bits hot and some cold which was weird. I’d just get dinner here and grab dessert somewhere else. The cappuccino I got with dessert was very good though, but really small. I’d say this place was worth experiencing, but not worth the price to come to regularly.

I’ve only had time for a quick cup of coffee and vanilla cream brûlée. Both were
Cozy place, French music, friendly staff.

Today, I visited Cafe de Paris with my partner, hoping for a memorable experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. We entered from the side near the John Lennon wall, but the doors were closed, and the waiter in the window just looked at us and went away( we thought that it’s closed) and no one informed us that the entrance was actually around the corner. Once inside, the decor was lovely, but no one greeted us or offered to seat us. The first picture actually is the first beautiful room. Despite there being only two other tables, we were seated in a less pleasant area on the room on the second picture near the passage.(even the decorations and furniture is totally different and looks not that aesthetic)
The service was less than welcoming — when I declined dessert, the waiter gave an awkward smirk, and despite my partner speaking English, all attention was directed at me. As for the food, the French onion soup was far from authentic, with an overwhelming amount of onions and an unpleasant cheese texture(it looks horrible and the taste was sour)The steak, which the restaurant is known for, didn’t live up to expectations either; the sauce lacked the depth and freshness you’d find in France. The fries and salad were fine, but nothing special.
The atmosphere didn’t live up to the experience I was hoping for, as the kitchen’s warmth and energy were far from our table. When we paid, there was no attempt to engage with us, and the waitress gave a cold farewell, which felt dismissive.
Overall, while the restaurant has potential, my experience left much to be desired. I had hoped for more, and sadly, it didn’t live up to the expectations.

This place is a must for it’s history in the city! It definitely have a special appeal that you can feel when you cross the entrance. I wasn’t mad for the Czech breakfast- no fault on the ingredients that were of great quality – but the bread and cake were delicious.

Amazing French restaurant in Prague and definitely one of the best choices in the city center. Beautiful place with great food! I had their signature entrecote and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were really attentive and made the whole experience even better. This is truly a hidden gem in Prague, I’ll definitely be coming back!

We recently visited this French restaurant, and the experience was absolutely delightful. The atmosphere is cozy and refined, with attention to detail evident in every aspect of the interior. Service is top-notch — the staff are polite, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu.
The food was a real pleasure! We especially enjoyed the entrecôte with the secret Café de Paris sauce, the onion soup, and the foie gras with pear — perfectly balanced flavors and beautifully presented dishes. The desserts deserve a special mention: the creme brulee and tarte tatin were simply exquisite.
