Pugsley Pizza is a true hidden gem in the Bronx. The food is excellent, especially the pizza, and everything comes out fresh and exactly how you want it. They’re more than happy to customize your order, which makes the experience even better.

Sal behind the counter is a big part of what makes this place special. He’s incredibly friendly, provides great service, and really puts on a show. Whether he’s joking around with customers or breaking out the saxophone, he brings a fun energy that makes the visit memorable.

The Philly cheesesteak is also outstanding and definitely worth trying. The spot is close to the Bronx Zoo, making it a great stop before or after a visit. It can get busy, but that just tells you how good it is. If you’re in the area, this place is absolutely worth checking out.

Really glad Bae found this spot for our pizza fix after our nearby botanical garden visit. Can’t believe I haven’t come here before. It is off the beaten path on a side street so there was no chance of randomly passing by and spotting while in the area. Luckily they have their own parking lot which is surprising and much appreciated so parking was a breeze. The shop is family run and I love that for them. The slices are really, really good. You have to try the home made hot oil/ sauce. The slices were so good I had to take two home for later. This is definitely the to go pizza shop when in the area.
The inside restaurant is very eclectic. Kinda dirty looking with worn out cushioned benches but perhaps that’s the charm.

A real college greasy spoon kind of place. The 1st thing you see on entering is a walnut dining room table an chairs… right out of grandma’s house. You order your pizza, then sit at a cozy booth surrounded by grafitti on the walls. Signatures and epithets from customers in years gone by. When your order is ready, the pier man strikes a large gong! The food was great, and the place was a fun visit!

Rustic college pizzaria next to Fordham Univ. Eclectic atmosphere with wooden bench booths. Had pepperoni slices and garlic knots with can of soda = $16. I wanted to like it but both dishes were bland and disappointing. Little to no seasoning on the pizza/pepperoni, with somewhat mushy dough. Acompanying marinara sauce was thin and didn’t stick to the knots when dipped. I only ate 1. Friendly service.

Humongous slices and the loveliest people working there!!

We got a whole penne vodka pizza and it took us 4 meals to finish, so worth the money.

Great pizza shop right by Fordham and the Bronx zoo. Super friendly people inside and the pizza is fresh and delicious. There’s even a super small parking lot if you’re driving over there. Also, don’t sleep on the calzones and chicken rolls. This is a regular spot we stop at before heading to the zoo – we love stopping here on the way in

Nice place to eat with the family. The pizza was delicious and the spaghetti and meat balls was awesome. The atmosphere was good peaceful and quiet. The service was excellent the staff was nice and friendly. The price was reasonable. I loved all the pictures on the walls. They were familiar faces and family oriented. I ordered peperoni and cheese. It was nice thin and crispy and delicious. It taste it like the pizza from my childhood and teenage years. The owner was very friendly. The spaghetti was delicious The sauce was great and the meatballs nice and big.

Old school Italian pizza place. Great vibes. No frills and Nothing fancy but the food and the service is top notch. Really good pizza, the new york way. Not flimsy at all. A nice crispy foldable slice. The owner was very friendly.

This pizza spot is truly a time capsule, run by a charming husband-and-wife duo. It’s a no-frills place, but that’s exactly what makes it so special. We stopped by while in the area and ordered a regular slice, a buffalo chicken slice, and a vodka chicken roll. Everything was fantastic – especially the house-made pepper toppings, which added a perfect kick to each bite. The owner was incredibly friendly, taking the time to check in with us while we enjoyed our food. If you’re in the neighborhood and craving a slice, this hidden gem is definitely worth the stop!
