I really wanted to like Herb’s BBQ. The reviews were pretty good. I ordered 2 plates of ribs and brisket, cornbread and Georgia sausage. Sides of potato salad, red beans and rice and Mac and cheese. The ribs were soft and tasted just average. The brisket was very good. The sausage was good as well. The potato salad was bland. The Mac and cheese was bland. The red beans and rice were awful. Bland and like no other red beans and rice I’ve ever had. It was mixed together and dry. Not like traditional red beans and rice with the red beans on top of the white rice and the red beans are more creamy like Popeyes or the kind you get in New Orleans. I grew up with red beans and rice and Herb’s was not good. The cornbread was dry and crumbly and did not have good flavor. I’d rather eat at Rib City. What does that tell you? I must have gone on a bad day because I didn’t have the experience other reviewers seem to have had. Disappointed.

Ordered for a group of 8 to include a whole chicken, ribs, brisket, chili, corn bread, zucchini and chocolate cakes. The food was excellent and the prices very fair for bbq. The sauces were great additions to the meats. Highly recommend!

If you get there before too late in the afternoon, the ribs and brisket are the very best I have ever had, otherwise they are a bit too dry. I personally like the medium sauce, but my husband and son prefer the spicy. His mac and cheese and collard greens are absolutely fabulous as well. His baked beans have too much sugar for my taste, but that’s just me. All in all, I highly recommend this place. I even asked for it on my last birthday dinner because it fell on a Saturday and no one wanted to cook.

This is GREAT barbecue. GRRRREAT. These fellas set up and tear down every Saturday- and keep the BEST service, quality, and atmosphere! If they can do that every week- you know they can cater!! Their food is delicious. My children beg me to stop every time we drive by and see them. The sides are no slouches either! Beans and Mac n cheese are our favorites. Get some brisket, get some pork, and get some cornbread! Or please, if you hire them to cater your event, can I come?

Herb’s Catering did an excellent job at my son’s wedding. He and his staff were very helpful and very accommodating. The food was amazing! We received so many complements from the wedding guests about the food. Herb’s BBQ is the best! Everything was fresh and hot. And the spicy BBQ sauce is delicious. My family and I are so appreciative for all the thoughtful planning and preparation that was done to make our son’s wedding reception so special. We highly recommend Herb’s Catering!

Herb catered an employee celebration and knocked it out the park. The brisket was so tender and smoked perfectly. We also had pulled pork and all cuts of smoked chicken. Portions were huge and pricing is reasonable. Thank you Chef Herb for making our event not only fun but tasty!

Not sure how this gets rated so high.I live in Eastern Alabama and we have 6 BBQ joints in a 10 mile radius that blow this away.
I guess its like Alabama folks telling me they had good Pizza over at the Papa Johns….they just dont know.
Ribs were overcooked and had no meat on them, not to mention no flavor. maybe the worst i ever had. Threw half the rack away.
Pulled pork and chicken really need some rub and smoke flavor. Pulle d pork thrown away – chicken used for salads the next day w lots of dressing.
Brisket had good flavor, but way over cooked as it fell apart when picked up.
Cole slaw was good – greens lacked flavor, needed some salt and vinegar.
Hot BBQ sauce was the best thing we tried.
Time to rethink the rub/smoke combo
