What a great experience we had at the Olive Restaurant! We went here on a Thursday evening and had great service and great meals. Everything tasted great, I had the chicken and shrimp fra diavolo, and I did not disappoint. We also got the chicken with red pepper and that also was amazing. All the dishes tasted fresh, and the portion size was okay, going to Italian place I kind of wanted a little bit more but if that’s the only thing that I walked away thinking the experience was great. The ambience of the dining room gives great vibes. I heard the gelato here is great after eating we did not have any room to fit that but will come out specifically for the gelato next time. Just moved to the area and check this place out I would highly suggest you do the same.

We have been regulars ordering out from The Olive for the past two years. We always order out since we are new parents. Last night was the first time we had a babysitter and walked in around 5:30 PM, we were asked if we had a reservation which we did not and was told the wait would be 30 to 45 minutes. We had no problem waiting. I asked the hostess if she wanted our name as she was hesitant about wanting to seat us and she didn’t write it down. My husband and I sat down and waited and within five minutes the hostess came over once again and reiterated the wait was 35 to 45 minutes. It felt like she wanted us to leave. I have never felt so unwelcomed in a restaurant. We could read the room and it was clear they did not want us to eat there. I’m so disappointed because I love their food and I was looking forward to this kid free night that turned into researching restaurant last minute that would take us. We were able to find another restaurant that was just as busy and sat us down immediately. Food here is awesome but customer service definitely needs work.

The Olive is a Must-Try in Sewell! We finally tried The Olive Italian Restaurant, and it instantly shot to the top of our list for local dining. Five stars aren’t enough to capture how impressed we were!
I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and I can confidently say it is the best I’ve ever had. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, and the sauce was rich, fresh, and tasted homemade. It was truly exceptional.
My son, who is a lasagna enthusiast, absolutely devoured his Lasagna. He rarely finishes a whole serving, but he scraped the plate clean and was asking when we could come back before we even left the parking lot.
Honestly, every single thing we ordered, from the bread to the dessert and even the side salads, was unbelievably good.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was prompt and friendly. If you are anywhere near Sewell, NJ, do yourself a favor and visit The Olive. We can’t wait to return!

Went here for dinner tonight to catch up with old friends, and have been here many times. Had a reservation for 6:30, but as they were busy, waited a few minutes for the table, which was fine. Food was good, server was very sweet – overall we had a really nice evening. However, I had to come on here to note that, boy, apparently if you are not out the door at 9, they will make sure you are. A few minutes after 9, I’m assuming either the owner or a manager came to our table and stated very abruptly, ‘we close at 9.’ Ourselves and everyone that was left in the restaurant, which was quite a few people, had to mass exit, doors locked, blinds closed. Same woman was by the door as we walked out- seemed very angry, did not say anything to us as we left (have a nice night, thanks for coming in…) I’ve worked in the industry and customer service positions my entire life, and would never dream of acting this way to customers. Her attitude and being booted out the door really put a damper on the evening, we were genuinely shocked walking out. Very un-Italian. Will likely not return due to to this incident.

If you love chicken parm you have to come here! The sauce is perfect the cheese is smooth. What a delicious meal! We ordered take out but will be coming back to have a date night!

This was my first visit to this restaurant. Some things were better than others. First, the restaurant is very tight and I had difficulty navigating it with my walker. They were not very helpful either.
Next, the bathroom was able to be navigated but they were out of soap. The food varied. My French onion soup was bland. I ordered cheese ravioli with meatballs. The meatballs were super firm. The ravioli were average. Overall the experience was ok. I ordered the red velvet cheesecake for dessert and that was good. I will return to try other menu items.

2023-05-06 4:30pm Great little Italian Restaurant does it all in a big way. We were brought here for a small family birthday dinner. The food is spectacular, way better then the commercial Italian food chains. We found the decor and atmosphere very immersive similar to the lengths that you’d fine the mouse theme parks restaurants in Florida. They have a huge dessert selection that has it’s own area of the restaurant but I couldn’t touch it after eating the main course. A shout out to my families favorite waiter Ben. He was on top of everything and did a great job. We will definitely be coming back

Dinner was fantastic!!! Make sure to same room for the sea salted caramel gelato cause dang how it vegan!!! Cheesecake was amazing too. We will be back. BYOB but they sell wine which was super convenient!

We made reservations for 7 via open table. We had lunch yesterday at the Olive. Our table was ready. Ample parking. Nice, clean large restaurant w high ceilings. Our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks, appetizers, lunch entrees, and desserts. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Nice size portions. We took leftovers home. Highly recommend them!
