However, last night around midnight, I go to te drive thru to get dinner. When it was my turn at the speaker box, the employee who took my order was a guy. He asked what I would like to get, I asked for the number 3, to which he responded saying they were out. I had asked if they were out of the buns or something, and he says its the meat, they are out of the signature meat but could do a regular patty. Half way through, a female employee takes over and this is how it went:
Me: “What is the difference between regular and signature meat?”
Him: “It’s signature.”
Me: “Okay, but what does signature mean? How is it different from regular meat?”
Him: “It’s signature.”
Me: ” I’m sorry, but I don’t know what signature means.”
Him: ” It’s signature.”
Me: (PAUSES BECAUSE I DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW THATS AN ANSWER TO MY QUESTION) “But what does that mean? What is signature meat?”
Him: “It’s-” (gets cut of and female takes over)
Her: “one is a regular meat and the other is signature.”
Me: “… I guess I just don’t understand what that means.”
Her: ” It’s signature meat. The other is regular.”
Me: “I understand that, but what does signature mean? Does that mean it’s cooked differently? A different type of meat?”
Her: ” It’s just signature. Now, do you want the regular meat or no?”
(at this point the tones are very impatient and annoyed by me not understanding.)
Me: “…. okay well is the regular meat beef? will the burger still have everything on it?”
Her: ” Okay you know what, we’re out of the number 3. We can’t make it anymore. Sorry for even trying to help you.”
So because I didn’t understand what the hell “SIGNATURE MEAT” meant vs regular meat and was only asking for an explanation of what the difference was, that was enough for them. This was completely unacceptable customer service. I go there and the female who took over is the one who always works the graveyard shifts in the window with lighter blonde hair. It was very rude for her to treat me like that when I was asking a question. I’m not an employee for Jack in the Box. I don’t cook there, haven’t had training, don’t know the recipes…. meaning, I have no damn idea what “signature meat” vs “regular meat” means. Losing your patience because you’re not explaining something right is not how someone in customer service should act. I’ve been in customer service F&B for over 17 years, and a General Manager for 13 of those years, and I’ve never treated someone like that. If someone doesn’t understand what you’re saying, you don’t cut them off, refuse the item and say “Sorry for even trying to help you”. You explain in a different way……
This was horrible service, horrible experience, and I’m very disappointed in this. I don’t eat here often, so getting mad like that, cutting me off, refusing my food item, then throwing in the very rude and arrogant end was horrible.
Owner, you need your staff to take patience and customer service training courses again. Whenever I come here at night, she’s always there. She never smiles, never talks to me, and anytime I ask for something, like extra taco sauce, she looks like it’s the last thing she would want to do. I never complain, or return food made wrong, no matter how many times I’ve had mistakes here because it’s small issues that aren’t the end of the world…. but horrible treatment is something I will not stay quiet about.
Miss, I don’t know what is going on in your personal life, but you were completely unprofessional and rude. I will never be coming back.
Walked in and gave her my order and she pointed to a logged out register but hey I’m sure whatever was on her phone was more important then making sure things were ready for the customer. Everyone else was cool but the register women always suck, this one just happen to piss me off today. Will not be returning to this location.
