I live in the neighborhood and go often. Usually sit at the bar which is great service. Food is great.

My daughter and I sat at a high top table in the bar area this time and unfortunately service was awful. Asked for the desert menu which she never showed with. I had to walk up to the bar to request the tab.

Just sit at the bar and you’ll be fine. Otherwise, not so much.

Enjoyed our third visit – that’s a lot for part-time residents! The room is relaxed and low key. The menu always has several delighters and the wine program is extensive. I don’t order chicken in a restaurant very often but the crispy prosciutto and artichokes and capers really make this dish.
Will be back for sure.

I really wanted to love this spot, but my experience was a total rollercoaster of “wait, did that actually just happen?” followed by a much-needed save.
The Disaster: Maria’s Service & Food Quality
Things started off on a rough note with our first bartender, Maria. We started with the calamari, which was a joke—it looked like a pathetic half-order and arrived old and cold. When she eventually asked how it was, we were honest and told her it was bad. Her response? “Why didn’t you say anything?” …We literally were at that moment!
She didn’t offer to replace it or take it off the bill. To make matters worse, I pointed to the dish the woman next to me was eating and described it specifically—including a request for shredded mozzarella. What I got was a completely wrong pasta dish topped with two small, cold mozzarella balls. It was like she wasn’t even listening. We were planning on staying for dessert, but after such a disappointing run with the food and the attitude, we decided to just cut our losses and leave instead.
The Save: Grace & Tyler
Thankfully, Maria got cut from her shift, and the vibe immediately shifted for the better. We were taken care of by Grace and Tyler, who were absolute pros. They were attentive, friendly, and actually recovered the night. If it weren’t for them, we likely would have walked out much sooner.
Bottom Line: The kitchen consistency is a major issue, and the service quality is a total gamble. If you see Grace or Tyler, you’re in good hands. If you get Maria, brace yourself for a frustrating night.

It had been almost 3 years since I last visited local bistro. I was expecting to be impressed as I was in the past. I was, however disappointed. Entering the restaurant was very similar to what I had remembered but things had somehow changed. The food was noticeabley different. Not nearly as tasty as it was in recent years.

Specifically, the Drunk Bread was almost dry and much less flavorful than in the past. The pasta dish I had was average at best. It lacked both flavor and texture. The noodles no longer possessed that “homemade” taste and feel they once had. The service was just okay.

With so many great restaurants in and around Scottsdale there is no need to settle for average. I would recommend trying somewhere else . . .

We thought we would try Local Bistro again after not eating there in a few years, and it was outstanding! We have a difficult time finding good food in North Scottsdale, being from Chicago where there are so many good restaurants including Michelin Star. InKind app got us to go back for dinner to try and Wow! Delicious. We had the wild salmon, beet salad and panna cotta for desert. Really harmonious use of flavors and spices. It should be recognized by Michelin guide as a place to dine. Just a thought.

Local Bistro has an excellent atmosphere, perfect for a date night. The menu isn’t large, but the dishes they offer are high quality and consistently well done. Service was good, and while it is on the pricier side, it’s still a spot I enjoy and would recommend for a nice night out.

I was here for work a while ago and stopped by this place. It was recommended to my by my hotel, and it did not disappoint! I had the Chicken Parm and it was amazing. The food was very fresh. I didn’t feel stuffed afterwards. The atmosphere was perfect. I’ll absolutely be back!

I enjoyed the modern, elegant ambience of the restaurant – great setting. Service was also absolutely excellent.

Cocktails were a bit hit and miss. They make a real good Manhattan, however, I was a bit disappointed by their Old Fashioned. They served it up with many small cubes rather than the one standard big cube, diluting it. Requested it remade with the one cube and when it came back it still tasted diluted so I think they might have just poured the same drink into a new glass with the new cube. I could be wrong, but that’s how it tasted.

As far as food goes, I loved their appetizers – mussels and calamari were really delicious. Also had their burger and French onion soup which were good, but for the price, wasn’t quite what I was hoping for.

Beautiful restaurant is North Scottsdale with a varied menu.

My favorite entree is the chicken parmasean. Note, it is a large portion that can be split. The homemade marinara sauce with chunky tomatoes is on top of a very crunchy crusted chicken breast.

I like to get it with a side of pasta.

Bartenders and staff are always friendly.

This place has a great environment, with the option of eating in or outside. They have large wine selection. The food we tried it was delicious. Every single dish was tasty with a generous portion. The staff was very friendly. But something we all loved was the desert…. that was absolutely delicious. We will be back for sure.
