I’m not much of a donut guy, but some folks have raved about this place and to convince me, they brought me a package of two of their donuts, so I had to try them.
The box is cute and the two donuts I got had a chocolate glazed and a peanut butter one in it which are two of my favorite flavors. When the box was delivered, it was still warm so I ate the chocolate glazed one right away. The other one I ate later. Since it was no longer warm, I followed the instructions on the box and popped it in the microwave for 10 seconds.
My conclusion? These donuts are OK, nothing special. They fall somewhere in between the Krispy Kream fluffy donuts and the hard cider donuts. The flavors were decent but not exceptionally good. I did not find the microwave thing helping much as that donut still tasted old rather than “fresh out of the fryer” like the box promised.
I certainly would not go out of my way for these donuts, nor would I say no to them. They’re fine.

Best donuts in the South Hills. The donuts are made fresh for each order and you get to customize the toppings for each donut (BYO). There are also a bunch of different collections which include seasonal, themes and other varieties. You will pay a little less at other shops, but I guarantee you won’t get a warm, custom-made, gourmet donut made with high quality ingredients at the other places.
For introverts like me, you can order and pay at a kiosk in the lobby which is super easy to customize your order. Delivery is also available via Uber Eats or other 3rd-party delivery services.
Regarding service, the staff are all friendly, professional, and courteous. Custom made donuts take time, so expect a few minutes between ordering and receiving.
The menu includes other options beyond donuts. The breakfast sandwiches are very good, again they are made to order. The coffee is also good. I haven’t tried the ice cream yet, but it’s on my list to try it soon.
I highly recommend! TEN OUT OF TEN.

These donuts are awesome! Made to order is what makes it special. Unlike the popular brands, duck donuts pick plain donuts and do the art work. It tastes awesome! Totally love it. Must try!!! Staff is kind 🙂

In fairness, Duck Donuts IS a chain and we are usually trying to avoid chains on these adventures. And, unfortunately, this whole experience felt like a chain.
Yes, the donuts DO come off the little conveyor belt right in front of you. And yes, they are pretty tasty when they’re still warm.
But this is, essentially, the same donut with different toppings on it. The donut is more of a vehicle for the toppings than a bespoke donut experience.
Furthermore, I’m a fan of a crème filled donut, which they don’t have here.
So while this was a fun experience and I have no complaints, I would not go back here. Nor would I tell anybody that they should go out of their way for Duck Donuts Pittsburgh.

Great great doughnuts! They are on the pricey side. Be ready to pay nearly $20 for six. But they are indeed insanely good!

Cute and quaint. There is a touch screen to order from if you are shy or know what you want. These are best fresh when they are prepared in front of you. They asked if I was pleased with the appearance before boxing my donuts, which was endearing.

Duck Donuts was a really great experience. It’s so much fun, especially for the children. They have so many great combinations and choices of flavors. If you are looking for a more traditional donut shop, this is not it. Freshly made and delicious in an over the top kitchyness. Everyone should check it out. You can just go for yourself!

I went there for my son. Didn’t know what to expect. But I believe it was the best experience. I ever had going into a donut shop. You place your order they make the donuts right in front of you. And the employees were so nice and friendly. And they were the best donuts i’ve think i’ve ever tasted. You really need to go here, You won’t regret it.
