The food, however, was the real star of the show. The sous vide preparation meant every single bite was incredibly tender and flawlessly cooked. I had the steak and lobster, and it practically melted in my mouth. This is easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. It’s rare to find a restaurant that hits every single mark, but they truly knocked it out of the park. We’ve found our new favorite special occasion spot!
Husband order the pork chop and ordered the sauce on the side- they repeated the order correctly but still put it on the food instead of the side. Begrudgingly took the food back and our service from that point on was not as great.
If you want to spend the money go to Ambrosia near 30A.. food is incredible and service is top tier- bigger portions more bang for your buck.
Tonight we dined at the Chef’s Table. Our experience began with a chaotic dash to the wine cellar, with little explanation, where we were handed two menus, asked to pick 5 appetizers and 3 mains, and to pick out wine. We had to spend at least $350.00 on wine. We weren’t sure if it was even an option to NOT drink. The waiters and “sommelier” intermittently darted in and out of this tiny wine cellar bombarding us with options and questions. Finally, and frantically we picked a glass of champagne, our food selections and a 2016 bottle of wine. We were asked if we wanted an upgrade of a caviar appetizer for $30. All of this is unlike and Chef’s Table we have ever experienced. Normally, the chef decides and curates a bespoke menu of the day.
Long story short there is little clarity on anything until the check has been delivered. Then it’s an uncomfortable conversation of clarity. The food was fine, our server Randy was incredible and the view of the hustle in the kitchen was interesting.
Final impression: NOT WORTH THE MONEY. The lack of transparency is frustrating, I would rather know what the experience will cost upfront to make a decision if I want to pay. We were sold a bottle of 2016 Ganache that actually was a 2020 , the caviar experience was actually $30 PER person, we were randomly up-charged $12 per person for a “meat selection” and $13 for a “arts and entertainment” fee to cover the live performance in the courtyard, outside the building and nowhere in our earshot and the ever-frustrating credit card up-charge.
Final thoughts: This was a glorified micro-buffet at a table facing the kitchen. Randy the server was amazing. This place has great potential but it is lacking attention to detail and forgoes fee transparency for the patrons.
Is it the best meal I’ve had? No, but it was a solid 4 star for dinner and service. The manager/owner also came over to explain the hiccup a bit and was very kind, that was appreciated.
They’re opening 2 other locations and we would consider them when we’re back in town.
Update 10/15/25
Visited again since the last post and had great service with Gabriel & Micah at the bar! These two guys were extremely helpful with awesome recommendations.
The Oyster and Artichoke Soup was amazing, as was the Peppercorn Tuna. The flatbread special with shrimp was phenomenal. Also, the carpaccio was to die for.
We will be back!
Our big frustration (and the reason I’m leaving only 4 stars) is that:
We specifically arranged a reservation for my brother’s wedding rehearsal dinner after confirming that they could accommodate our special dietary needs.
Multiple people in our family are vegan and vegetarian and we specifically picked this place because the owner (who was communicating directly with our wedding planner) said they would make a special menu to accommodate our party– yet when we got there, not only did they not have the special menu (and the employees working didn’t even know about our request)– they also didn’t have anything on the menu that was vegan (even the vegetarian pasta was made with eggs, making it not vegan and therefore not viable).
So they had one viable vegetarian option, but no vegan options, and the entire reason we chose this restaurant was because they promised they would make special arrangements to accommodate us. We had all of this original correspondence in texts between our wedding planner and the restaurant, so it is extremely frustrating that they didn’t do what they’d said they would do (if we’d known, we would have just picked a different restaurant, given the bride is vegan).
That being said, they (after much back and forth) eventually came up with a vegan option for my brother’s wife (riced cauliflower with veggies). It seemed to be a really ridiculous situation, but I appreciate that they at least came up with a way to accommodate.
Their regular dishes were very good– I enjoyed the grouper and my husband had the venison — the tuna was really good (according to my other sister-in-law) and and my other brother enjoyed his pesto pasta (“pretty decent” are his exact words).
In typical high end restaurant style, the portions were pretty small. We had midnight snacks to accommodate at home.
Our beginning impressions were less than stellar, but at least they made an effort to make it better by coming up with a vegan option on the fly and not adding the gratuity automatically for our party of 12.
If they hadn’t made false promises about being able to accommodate us, and if we didn’t have any special dietary needs, then this would have been a five-star restaurant, good for fancy expensive small plates.
However if you are vegan, look elsewhere. This is not the place you want to visit, even if they tell you they will accommodate you before hand.
I hope this experience leads to some better training for whoever dropped the ball and didn’t communicate with the people working at the restaurant.
