They were cooking lunch for the locals when we came in, smelled great! Then the bartender brought out fresh hot cookies still on the pan and was giving them to the regular customers. She didn’t offer us any, BUT it was great to see her treating her customers like this.

So I don’t drink but I go to bars often to shoot pool. Had some guys hit on me and my sister and say we could play them for the table. So I began to and then about 6 other guys walked up and started getting loud with my group saying they had the table. It became a big ordeal. And even though over 6+ guys were over talking me and one of my guys, my guy got kicked out because “they hadn’t seen his face before”. What a great Iowa welcome! No joke!!! Then some blonde lady in a red and black plaid shirt wants to accuse some random people in the bar of being on “literal crack” (her wordings)! That is so rude and wrong in many ways! I’m sorry but I’ve NEVER been more disgusted in a bar! And I’ve been in many as I love to shoot pool and throw darts!

This place makes me happy. Sometimes a person just needs to be with other people even if they are strangers. Need some conversation? Sit at the bar. Want to just sit and think? Grab a table. Just Don’t expect to be left completely in your own head. It’s a small town friendly kind of place so people are probably going to talk to you and ask you 1000 questions .

Shouldn’t be classified as a “bar and grill” but the drinks were fine and the bartender was nice! They have specials on certain days of the week, they had tacos when we went. $6 for one taco no side, so kind of a bummer. We ended up having a drink and going somewhere else. Could be a great bar but definitely not a place for a filling meal 🙂

Not sure if they still do it, but the lunch specials are pretty dang good. Definitely a major gathering place on certain weekends; especially when there’s events going on at the rec center nearby.
