Social Profile:

Gregg and Max, the chefs behind Casey Lee’s, first met in December 2022 and quickly became friends over their shared passion…cooking. More than traditional BBQ, they take smoking and live fire cooking, pair it with fresh and light ingredients, and deliver unique mouth watering flavors. Located in Flatonia on South Main, we lovingly refer to the restaurant as a “glorified food truck”. Come grab some food at the window, sit on the deck under the shade of the pecan tree, and just have a good day 🙂

A group of us drove in from Houston this weekend to finally check out Casey Lee’s BBQ, and man… we were blown away. As Houstonians, we’re spoiled with heavy hitters like Truth, Pinkertons, and The Pit Room, but Greg’s got something special going on here in Flatonia. His food easily hangs with the big dogs and honestly I think its better.

We ordered the trinity plate (ribs, tri-tip, and sausage) and added a pound of barbacoa. Every single bite was killer. The sides were absolutely fire and that mustard BBQ sauce slaps. I could drink that stuff.

We’ll definitely be back soon. Big thanks for letting the kids check out the smoke room. Hats off to the whole crew, keep doing your thing, Flatonia’s lucky to have you.

Great BBQ in a small town setting. The Tri-tip is moist and delicious. The beef ribs are smoked to perfection, and the fried rice will make you come back for more! The newly added dining room is perfect for family meals and listening to great music.

The atmosphere was just amazing! The staff were friendly and very helpful with the selection of meats. The green curry beef rib was “Lights Out” good. Cannot wait to go back!

Arrived at 10:15 a.m. and were first in line before they opened at 11 — by opening time it was already getting busy, which says a lot. Super nice local owners and friendly service, with Casey herself making thoughtful recommendations. We tried the tri-tip and barbacoa with polenta, Caesar coleslaw, biscuits, and potato salad — and the meat was perfectly tender, juicy, and flavorful. It honestly didn’t need any sauce at all. The sides had a great fusion feel, and the polenta with barbacoa was a standout combo. The biscuit was light and flaky. I’ll definitely be back to try more, especially keeping an eye out for the panang curry beef rib.

This places smokes any other BBQ place I’ve tried.

There’s a reason they sell out every Saturday. No matter what they have on their ever-changing menu, I promise you WILL NOT be disappointed.

Plus, the owners/staff are some of the most genuine, personable people you’ll ever meet.

***Pro tip:
Check the menu via their social media a few days prior to the weekend, and go early. Like set your alarm early. Would hate for you to be the poor soul left crying into your coleslaw (which is incredible, by the way) after the last specials are served.

And whatever you do, try everything. The only regret you’ll have here is not ordering enough.

Five stars. Two thumbs up. One round of applause for the chefs, and a happy, full belly.

I got there at 10:55 am. I was the first in line. By 11, there were at least 8 people behind me. I ordered 2 plates and some sides and desserts and the pork belly burnt ends. The food was great! My parents stay at home and they really enjoyed the food. Would definitely recommend…

I have visited Casey Lee’s three times. The first time I tried as much of the menu as I could. The tritip, dino rib, and coleslaw were standouts on that visit. My carb eating companions enjoyed the fried rice. The addition of brisket to the menu on my second and third visits was great – well balanced smoke and tender slices. Yesterday, I also tried the smoked cornish game hens, which were perfect for a hot summer day. Delicious and not too heavy. I enjoy the cilantro and cashews in the refreshing cole slaw on every visit. It’s worth a trip to the charming town of Flatonia and I look forward to their addition of more dining space.

You NEED to try this food! Excellent new bbq joint I would put up against any of the best! I had the bbq game hen with potato salad and pork belly fried rice and loved it all. We also tried the tri tip, pork ribs, turkey and chopped beef sandwich, beans, mac and cheese, and roasted corn. We couldn’t decide what was best it was all so good!

We went to Casey Lee’s because we were in Flatonia and it was the first bbq place that popped up in my search. I am so happy that we did. I can honestly say it is one of the best bbq I have had. We came late and there were some selection that ran out. We ended up having the brisket, ribs, and sausage. They were moist and tender and very tasty overall. I’m not a cole slaw person, but I couldn’t stop eating theirs – it was very refreshing. To top it off, the chocolate cookie had a nice crunch on the outside, right amount of chew inside, and the chocolate chips melted quite nicely.

It was worth the 1 1/2 hour drive.
