Our Sunday adventure wrapped up perfectly with an amazing dinner at Captain Morgan’s! We decided to try the Captain’s Signature Seafood Enchilado Bowl (Mariscada), which serves two and is available from October 15th to May 1st—and WOW, was it incredible!

It was a beautiful medley of fresh seafood topped with huge Lobster tail, all swimming in a rich, flavorful enchilado sauce that was absolutely delicious. We ended our meal with Maggie’s homemade Flan…. Yum Yum & paired with an excellent Cuban espresso.

The owners, Morgan & Maggie, charming husband and wife, and their son, Andres are true gems—they personally came out to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our meal.

On top of the great food and service, the restaurant is spotlessly clean. They offer cozy indoor seating, a charming outdoor patio, and even seating on the porch—perfect options for any mood or weather.

You can always tell when you’ve found a place where the owners pour their heart and soul into creating a memorable experience, and Captain Morgan’s is exactly that.

We’ll definitely be coming back—and next time, we’re bringing friends and family to enjoy it with us!

This is our third visit to Captain Morgan’s. The family who owns the restaurant are very kind and friendly. The food was outstanding! The service is excellent. The restaurant is very clean. The coffee was amazing. We will return whenever we are in the area. It is well worth the drive to Everglades city. If you are in the area give it a try you will be so happy you did.

Another fantastic dinner at the Marcos family’s Capt. Morgan’s Seafood Cafe! The Seafood Enchilado Bowl is truly a feast…shrimp, mussels, scallops, blue crabs, huge stone crab claws crowned with lobster…all in the Capt’s signature sauce! Served three adults with take home for a fourth! Save room for Magy’s flan and coffees! Still the nicest family and cleanest restaurant in SW Florida!

A hidden gem in Everglades City! I visited in May and had the grilled snapper, it was absolutely delicious, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. What made the experience even better was meeting the owners; they are truly wonderful people, warm and welcoming, which makes you feel right at home.
One of the things I loved the most is that if you catch your own fish, you can bring it here and they will cook it for you and serve it with traditional sides. That’s something you don’t find everywhere and it makes the experience unforgettable.
The place has a cozy, family atmosphere and authentic flavors that reflect true Cuban hospitality. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Everglades City or Chokoloskee.

Grouper sandwich and burger were delicious and the key lime pie was the BEST we’ve ever had. Highly recommend. They don’t take AmEx though.

Unique family-owned restaurant with a sincere and thoughtful touch. The cuisine was Cuban-Floridian fusion, offering everything from local seafood, Florida favorites, to authentic Cuban.

I received exceptional service by the wait staff and chef, which personally welcomed me and explained the menu options and ingredients. They didn’t have to do any of this, but they did, and this sincere touch pervaded everything they did. For example, I didn’t know Everglades City was the Stone Crab Capital of the world until they told me, and now I want to come back again for that, in addition to the excellent Cuban food I had.

Plan a visit or excursion here—you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve had quite a few palomilla steaks and this was something else. The steak either was tenderized for way too long and became some type of microwave steak dinner consistency, or they just made something up for us. The $33 “steak” was supposed to be top sirloin thin sliced and pretty much tasted of straight vinegar and my partner agreed without me saying anything first, I feel deceived and generally overcharged. Maybe a tourist trap, and btw about $120 for this “steak” six okay shrimp and one glass of wine lol

Edit to reply: we didn’t want to be rude, but if you were so observant, you would notice that we didn’t touch the steak after one bite it was so gross. I’ll add a picture of the whole steak since you think that will change anything hahaha.
I never said my stomach hurt, which is just a weird thing to add and lie about anyway. Good luck with your weird attitude and mediocre overpriced food.

Came here after going on an Everglades boat ride. Super friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Had the gator bites and the grouper sandwich. The gator bites were fine, but mostly a novelty and didn’t thrill me too much; but the grouper sandwich had incredibly fresh grouper, which was a great surprise. Phenomenal.

Others in the group had the burger, which was huge and they also enjoyed.

Definitely recommend.
