Have wanted to eat there all my life. Finally at age 67 I went with a friend. To my delight their tenderloin did not have onion or garlic on it which I am allergic to. I had a tenderloin and fries and drink. Food was great. Oil fresh in the fried and tenderloin ( didn’t taste old or like onion or garlic). Got my free drink refill. I was very happy with the meal and the low price. Wish I would have gone sooner . I would have made it my place to go.

We came up for errands and stopped by this restaurant without any expectations but it is so good! We ordered the banana bread French toast and fish chips, both of them are amazing and so affordable! The service was also very good as they are friendly and hospitable!

Like all restaurants Carlos’ can be hit or miss but most of the time their food is absolutely fantastic. The most recent visit for me they had a banana bread French toast special. It is what’s pictured, was absolutely fantastic. Delicious without adding anything extra to it. All of the fruit, caramel, and cream cheese icing in the middle makes it sound overly sweet, but it isn’t at all. It’s the perfect amount of sweet. The time before last I had the regular French toast which was also delicious. Pretty decent coffee too.

Carlo’s is a comfortable little diner on the west side of Kankakee. The dining area is clean and well lit. The menu has a Latino flare as well as the American standards. The help is attentive and pleasant. It’s a great place to stop for a stress free bite to eat. Prices are reasonable.
