A fantastic little Asian fusion restaurant, with a next level chef, cooking everything fresh at the back of the restaurant facing the tables! The location is a family operated venture with the wait staff treating every customer like friends and family. I’ve returned multiple times each time I visit Kingston quarterly and am always made to feel appreciated for stopping by. If this restaurant was based only on experience I would still give it 5 stars, but it also has some of the most delicious food you will find in the city! The homestyle tonkatsu bento is the closest I’ve had to my mother in laws’ in Japan, and sushi offerings are prepared with perfect textured, temperate and flavoured sushi rice. Soups, sauces and presentation all have extra care, precision and detail to balance every main dish. Add to this, the reasonable pricing platform of the menu, and you’re left with an experience that anyone at any price point can afford to enjoy! Highly recommend going with a group though so you can try more dishes!!! Make sure to add this to your list of restaurants to visit! Just beware, it’s always packed! ☺️

Lots of options and we each enjoyed what we got! There is something for everyone here. I got the bento curry. I appreciated it, but there was a lot of fried food. Next time I would get the bento again but with a main that was not fried.

Lovely spot to grab a bite. I have only ordered from here once, but it was absolutely delicious and there was a lot of food for the price. I did not dine in, but the restaurant has a super cozy feel.
The restaurant offers quite a bit of choice on their menu including bento box lunches. These come with a small rice, veggie tempura, miso soup, edamame, along with your choice of a roll or sushi as an extra side. As I ordered online through the website I was only given the choice of a california roll, but they do offer spicy salmon as well if you dine in.
The food was fresh and tasted great! I got the grilled chicken as my main but there is a ton of other choices available. Before taxes and gratuity my meal was only $20. The different varieties of bento boxes have different costs of course with sashimi being the most expensive.
I would definitely order from here again and will definitely be dining in whenever I get the chance.

We visited for the first time today and were genuinely impressed! The staff were incredibly welcoming, and our server Ty was an absolute gem!! She was always cheerful and attentive, with a warm smile throughout the evening.
The food was outstanding! Every dish, from sushi to the perfectly cooked Teriyaki chicken, was a delight. But the true highlight of the night was the dessert named Shuroop. It was nothing short of spectacular! Rich, indulgent, and beautifully presented, it stole the show.

Highly recommended. Our first visit to SHUROOP was amazing . Our server TI was so amazing and cheerful. Service as well as atmosphere was pleasant. Sushi and was full of taste. Star dish was shuroop. Must visit with your love once when you are around Kingston downtown.

The manager is really nice, and he runs the restaurant with his wife, so it has a cozy, family feel. The rice is tasty, and I’ve been going there several times now. My favorite is the shrimp tempura roll—it’s so good! Highly recommend this place.
