Akarui absolutely blew us away. Everything was next level from start to finish. We ordered the Chashu buns, vegetable gyozas, and the Spicy Chicken Tonkatsu Ramen and wow… every single bite was incredible. You can tell real care goes into this food.
Hands down one of the best meals we have had in a long time. This will forever be a must stop spot anytime we are in town. Highly, highly recommend.

The fish was incredibly fresh, clean-tasting, and high quality—beautifully prepared and easy on the stomach. Every bite felt thoughtfully done. The waitress was fantastic and clearly knew the menu well; her recommendations made ordering a breeze and led us to some excellent choices.
Friendly service, fresh fish, and a bright, inviting atmosphere. If we’re ever back in Omaha, this is absolutely a spot we’d return to. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates quality seafood and great service.

Great stop for fuel before a show!! Very welcoming and clean. Ramen was fabulous. There is a spice on the tables that made everything better will be back for more!!

This place is pretty good in terms of Japanese food. I ordered sushi and sashimi mix. The price was very reasonable and the quality of fish was really fresh and enjoyable and I could not expect anything more from a sushi place located in Midwest. The atmosphere was modern and giving the location in downtown Omaha I would say pretty appealing. I would certainly recommend this as a quick launch bite for anyone who is into Asian cuisine.

So good I had to stop twice.
My lady and I stopped here for a quick supper and were very impressed with our meals. She had a custom poke bowl, and I had a seared tuna salad. Both were excellent.
We stopped back the next day for lunch.She had a different poke bowl, and I had the chicken fried rice. Again both dishes were excellent.
My lady also had a couple of the specialty drinks and she really enjoyed them.

2nd visit to Akarui. The spicy chicken ramen is so good. I wish I could convince a TSA agent to let me bring home a gallon of the broth. I would drink it every day.

Last minute decision to eat out. My person came into town and we decided to eat driving from Epply. Walked in and was not asked where would like to eat. I usually eat at booths because I like the comfort and privacy. We were sat under a central air controlling unit for the room along the West window. Uncomfortable immediately.
I hadn’t seen my friend for a while and wanted privacy and a comfortable space to hold hands. We wanted to move to a booth 15 feet away and was told no by the hosting team. Apparently the booth area is closed because the team wants to consolidate everyone to a central area in the middle to be able to clean easier. There was no moving this policy. At my age of 40+, when I decide to give money to a restaurant it is expected to be a comfortable atmosphere and an experience I enjoy with my person.
A reasonable table relocation request is not expected to be what is easiest for the hosting team to leave quickly.
Will not return or recommend. In fact, I will tell many people about this experience until i am tired and ready to move on.
