We take great care in preparing signature items that are scratch-made, cooked to order, and speak to our mid-South roots. We’re all about celebrating the classics, delivering value, and throwing back to the beloved local barbecue & burger spots of our youth. Hugh-Baby’s burgers feature a proprietary blend of premium beef, ground fresh daily. Our slow-smoked pulled pork, turkey & bologna follows the time-honored traditions of Memphis barbecue & we smoke all the meat for our BBQ sandwiches in-house, every single day. Crispy, golden French Fries, gas station-style hot dogs, a killer house-made veggie burger, and hand-spun milkshakes round out our menu.

Wow, was I impressed with the quality of customer service! I used the drive-thru today. It was refreshing to be greeted in a positive and friendly manner. The service was fast and the employee was kind and reapectful. The manager brought my food to the window and wished me a good rest of my day.

Hugh Baby’s Burgers is absolutely spectacular. From the moment you walk in, everything is well-run, efficient, and professional, yet still warm and welcoming. The staff is organized, friendly, and clearly takes pride in what they do.
And the food — outstanding. The burgers are perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and made with obvious care and quality. Every bite delivers exactly what a great burger should be: simple, bold, and done right.
It’s rare to find a place that nails both incredible food and top-tier professionalism, but Hugh Baby’s does it effortlessly. Consistently excellent, and easily one of the best burger spots around. Highly recommend.

Stopped by for a lunch burger and was definitely impressed with the quality.
The meat was seasoned nicely, and I kept getting a lot of black pepper flavor. I would recommend getting no pickles, as the pickle quality isn’t very good and detracts from the great meat flavor.
The fries were frozen, but did taste good. We shared a small fry for $3 and our bag was barely half full, so I’m not sure if they use one bag for all sizes, but what we got was not worth the price.
Every thing is ordered à la carte which can be fine, but in this case seems to be a bit more expensive. I believe a lunch combo meal would be perfect here.
All in all I recommend the burger!

A quick stop at Hugh-Baby’s for a beautiful smash burger. The Bbq burger with a fresh made burger piled high with juicy slow cooked pull pork and HB bbq sauce grilled onions on perfect fresh bun. A beautiful mess for sure. Perfect with a side of chili cheese fries. Yum! Always hits the spot. Next time I’m going for that bologna sandwich. You don’t see it on the menu often.

My new favorite burger. The burgers are salty, greasy, and DELICIOUS! They take ‘smash’ to the limit. Fries are very thin, like In-N-Out. Pulled pork sandwich is solid. Can’t wait to try the fried chicken sandwich. My Mom likes the shakes (I haven’t tried one yet).
The food is great, and the service is awesome. Every time I go, there are super-nice and helpful young people working there. There is no better service in Charleston, period. Many restaurants could learn from Hugh-Baby’s. And the prices are totally reasonable.

Not bad for a local joint but it could be better. Service is always great. Even asking for extra crispy fries they come out quite terrible. I’ve visited multiple times hoping it gets better but it hasn’t. I think during busy times their oil does not stay hot enough TBH. Maybe they just aren’t aware that this happening. This is kinda dangerous when you’re cooking chicken. When they first opened, I figured they were working out the kinks but by now, I won’t risk it. Too many other places in WA know how to cook some French fries. Their website even touts crispy, golden fries…
Wife loves the bbq sandwich. The chicken sandwich is pricey ($7!) for a chicken thigh and no side. If you’re still hungry, go to turbo cone down the street for dessert.

Good smash burger. Could use just a sprinkle of salt and pepper, but there’s S&P at the table. Catfish sandwich has a great tartar sauce and slaw. Chili fries had plenty of classic chili. All at very reasonable prices which are hard to find these days. Simple, clean restaurant and bathrooms. Nice music that wasn’t too loud. The best part? They made a grilled cheese for my kid, off menu. I’ll be back soon!

First time visiting, won’t be the last. Clean atmosphere. I got the double cheeseburger and it was 10/10. Fresh squeezed lemonade was worth every penny. But the highlight of my visit was ANAYIAH. She goes above and beyond to make her guests feel welcomed and I felt that firsthand. Great asset to the team and a leader in service quality.
