I moved from saxonburg to Slipperyrock this winter. This place is a gem. Ik people complain about the college kids. They come for dinner and all I’ve encountered are so nice. Then it clears out still full with locals. I like the atmosphere, the workers are on point. I met the owner my first time there and he was so nice. I couldn’t get over that my 20oz angry orchard was only 4 bucks!! Wings are great. Doubles are 10. I’m happy to have found this place. I’m going to become a weekend regular

Good exp overall. Waitress was great, food was delivered timely – not very busy. Chkn tender salad (Farmer by menu name) was your average but with better lettuce. Bavarian pretzel was very hot and perfectly salted. Would go again given an opportunity.

great service; we had a large group of 14 for lunch after a grad ceremony and had two waitresses, who checked up on us regularly and quickly grabbed any extra items we needed. menu is affordable, and the size portions were amazing, my cousins fish fillet was almost as bigger than her plate!
my only complaint is the sticky floors throughout the restaurant and restrooms.

This place was a big surprise. We were looking for a place to eat lunch and watch the football games before a vball game at SRU. First impression was that this was ur run of the mill sports bar. Good amount of tvs, friendly staff, and smelled like stale beer with a hint of bleach. The surprise was the quality of the food. Wife got a salad and potstickers. I got a pizza. Everything was amazing all the way down to the salad. The freshness of the pizza ingredients was top notch. Only been here once, but excited to try again next year when we visit again.

Our 1st time here. The food came out and the portions were so big. Even my husband’s chicken cordon blue sandwich was huge.
I got chicken bacon ranch pizza .
The food was excellent. The service was excellent. I can not wait to go back.
Lettuce is hiding the chicken breast ,but the chicken breast was about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.

Decent place. Bar atmosphere, pretty noisy and wide open with loud music. The place could use some updating, and if you’re looking for something upscale, this isn’t it. However, the food was great, very flavorful and well presented. The services was excellent and very efficient considering how busy they were. Plenty of parking in the rear of the building. Definitely attracts a younger crowd.

Fairly Busy for a Tuesday evening in the summer. Our waiter was great, but there was quite a wait between ordering and receiving our food. However, all the food was fantastic. We have always been pleased with our food and staff. Highly Recommend

We visited recently and unfortunately experienced a wait of over an hour for our food. When it did arrive, the meals were lukewarm, and the fries on the salad were cold and seemed as though they had been sitting for some time. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri, which, although served in a pint glass instead of the proper glassware, was actually the highlight of my visit. This bar has real potential, but it would greatly benefit from additional staff and quicker service in the kitchen.

Located in the heart of Slippery Rock and SRU, Ginger Hill Tavern was chosen as the restaurant to celebrate my Wife’s birthday. Good food. Nice sized portions. Wide selection of foods on their menu to satisfy the whole family. Patio out front for those that enjoy dining outdoors. 3 things kept me from giving more stars. 1st, My Wife ordered 2 drinks. Neither of them were available. 1 was a slushie and it wasn’t frozen yet. The other was a Pomegranate Martini which our waiter, Jeff, told us should’ve been taken off the menu because it’s not made anymore. 2nd, the booths are VERY uncomfortable. After 10 minutes I found myself adjusting to ease the back and butt pain. 3rd and last, both restrooms were in less than clean conditions. Dirty, holes in the walls, broken handles on the sinks, BIG roll of toilet paper not in the dispenser but balanced on top of it. I compared notes with my Wife and Daughter and theirs was much the same with the addition of messages scratched into the stall doors by who I would guess to be college patrons. It must be tough to keep up with repairs and maintenance but it is necessary otherwise the message, “go ahead, treat this restroom like $hit” is given and patrons will continue to trash it like they do. None of these were a deal breaker BUT the overall experience could’ve been better with these issues resolved.

Was visiting Slippery Rock University for a tournament and decided on this place for a bite to eat. They were busy for a Saturday afternoon, but they had a seat when we walked in. The server was very nice and took our order quickly. It took some time to receive our food, close to 35 minutes but the server did keep checking in. The food was good but not great. The Buffalo chicken sandwich piece of chicken was very small, didn’t fill the whole bun. Chicken was good though. Bun wasn’t fresh. The fries were seasoned good, but weren’t hot, kinda room temperature. The other order was salmon salad. The salmon was tasty, but the salad was obvious just from a “bag of lettuce.” We also ordered a bowl of wedding soup and it was hot and delicious. We also only had water. The two meals with tip were $45. I would eat here again, but would have lower expectations.
