Do yourself a favor and try the Mr. Big’s Potato. It’s loaded, filling, and made to be shared. One of those dishes that reminds you why comfort food never goes out of style.
This place is all about good food, good portions, and taking the time to enjoy a meal together. Definitely worth trying.

It’s a teeny place with amazing food!! Only a few tables. Atmosphere is so friendly and inviting, you definitely get to enjoy your neighbors (which is a plus for us)! A bit expensive than you’d expect BUT if you’re trying to have great Texas BBQ this is it!!! If peaches are your thing I’d suggest the peach tea but their “moonshine” tea has no alcohol but it’s truly amazing and doesn’t even taste like tea!!! The lady running the place is so warm and kind! Local or not I’d recommend!!! Brisket was juicy and falling apart-could cut with plastic fork!) baked beans were spicy and had brisket in it, such flavor!!! Other locals were eating brisket sandwiches and they looked amazing as well! Chicken had great flavor-thigh was falling off the bone. You truly couldn’t wrong with anything you get! Their bbq sauce had perfect flavor of sweet bbq sauce with spice (and I’m not into a bunch of hot spice foods)!

We stop here every time we take our son to Louisiana Tech in north Louisiana. Hickory Hill is just outside of Tyler. And has awesome BBQ, ribs are perfect, brisket is perfect, sides are perfect. We’ve tried lots and lots of BBQ and I even have my own smoker… and i can only aspire to get it just right EVERY TIME like these guys do. Tiny dining room in the front room, but there’s a back room for more guests, as well as patio seating out front (dog friendly!).
Don’t forget the amazing lemonade, served up in mason jars that you can take home with you when you’re done with your amazing BBQ.
Husband and wife that run this joint are the sweetest, warmest, most accommodating folks that you’re ever going to meet. They’ll treat you right, and they make great, friendly service look easy.

First time we stopped by they had ran out of meat. I was so disappointed that I couldn’t get my brisket potato, but they made sure I got to try their chicken! It was so good that I knew I had to come back. I walked in today and finally got to try their chicken brisket potato. When I tell you they cook with their heart and souls…baby!!!! Soooo good it was worth the wait. Thank you to the amazing hardworking people!

A bit off the road from I-20, but well worth it. Doesn’t look like much from outside, but the goodness starts when you walk in the door. Super nice people who are proud of their work. The owners fixed me up with a brisket and sausage plate. All I can say is WOW! Some of the best BBQ I can recall having in a long time. The potato salad and beans were out of this world. Had the iced sweet tea as well, which was a real treat- love how it comes in a ToGo mason jar. When I come back through, I am definitely stopping by again. NOTE – CASH ONLY, so be ready with some green in your hand. No credit cards. Nearest ATM is down the road aways.

Me and my wife are looking for a place to get lunch at a barbecue. We’re staying at Stillwater RV park. This place is off the beaten path. The owners were friendly as anyone could be service was perfect we looked at the menu. We ordered ribs, chicken and sliced brisket. Also a blueberry lemonade and a regular lemonade. These are handmade and absolutely incredible. The chicken was so good. My wife ate a drumstick. She only eats chicken breast. The ribs had bite to them. the sauce is a little sweet, but it also has a different profile to it and it’s very good. The brisket Texas brisket extremely Wonderful the owner. Knows what he’s doing. They told us to call ahead because once they run out of meat they close down. There is nothing around their barbecue place except for homes if you’re looking for a top-notch barbecue place doesn’t have all the frills But friendly Faces and great food at a reasonable price I recommend this

This place is the best kept secret that I know of. They don’t take credit cards, and they don’t have room for a lot of people. But that hickory smoked BBQ is the best you will find. Their beans also have a healthy serving of brisket bits and sausage. Don’t miss this one.

Highly RAVING Hickory Hill!! This place is amazing! I love the old country vibe in the building! Smells amazing when you walk in! Customer service is top tier! Food is prepared with love!! The pictures speak for themselves! I saw a post about them on fb and had to try it out! It was everything they raved about and more!! Definitely my favorite BBQ place now!!
