Nestled in the heart of downtown and only a short drive to gorgeous Lake Michigan, you’ll find that Uncommon is more than just a coffeeshop. As you walk inside the cafe you’ll be greeted by the aroma of fresh brewed coffee, a mouth watering menu and bake case full of fresh baked goods including cookies, croissants, cakes, muffins and so much more! A charming little café in the heart of Saugatuck with great, delicious coffee at reasonable prices and very friendly staff. The relaxed atmosphere makes it perfect for a short break from everyday hustle and bustle. The selection of sweet and savory snacks, smoothies, and drinks (including cold brew) is extensive – I opted for a homemade chocolate chunk cookie, which went perfectly with my cappuccino. Since my wife and I visited in October, we enjoyed the sunshine and coffee in the beautifully landscaped little garden. Unfortunately, the coffee was served in a paper cup, even though we wanted to drink it on-site. A little oasis of relaxation and tranquility in the lovely town of Saugatuck – we’ll gladly come back when we’re visiting this part of Michigan again!

I loved my visit to Uncommon Coffee Roasters in Saugatuck. The coffee is incredibly tasty and expertly crafted—easily some of the best in town. The atmosphere is cool, relaxed, and perfect for hanging out or getting some work done. On top of that, the staff is friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. First time we came here was back in 2018 on our first trip as girlfriends. We came back in August 2025 now as wives and still love this place so much the coffee is so good and of course the service is always excellent. This place will always have a special place in our hearts ️

Came here on a Saturday morning around 11 AM. There was a long line! It went pretty quick though. I got a hot drip coffee and wasn’t very impressed. It was bitter, even with added cream. Maybe their lattes are better!

Awesome coffee spot in Saugatuck! Great coffee and pastries with a nice choice of breakfast sandwiches. The pesto sandwich has a nice, subtle flavor. Comfortable chairs and tables to set up and chat with a friend or study. Great vibe with chilled coffee house music and relaxed vibe!

A family member who grew up in Saugatuck recommended this café for coffee and drinks during our short visit to town. When we arrived, we immediately loved the atmosphere—the space is inviting and smells wonderful. Unfortunately, the drinks didn’t live up to the environment. The coffee tasted watered down and lacked depth of flavor, and the Lotus energy drink was extremely small and mostly ice. Overall, it’s a lovely place to sit, but the beverages themselves were disappointing given the price.

My wife and I LOVED this place during our first visit to Saugatuck. Definitely a highlight of the trip and one of our favorite coffee shops we’ve ever been to. The drinks were all spot on, the service was super friendly (even at the crack of dawn), the baked goods and Sandwhiches were fresh and amazing. The branding on their coffee bags is sick. Gladly brought a few home for family to enjoy. Thanks to their team for making our trip so great. There was a particular staff member who also works at the book store – shoutout to them for being stellar at their job. Can’t wait to go back!

Loved this little coffee shop. We had drinks and snacks each day for our Valentine’s weekend. Service and drinks were good. I loved the uncommon lemonade. It was different each time, and that made it better. There isn’t much room inside to sit down, but if you get a seat, it is a great atmosphere.

At this point I have a photo album in my phone dedicated solely to Uncommon. These folks are actually craftspeople, the quality is insane! I have no idea how they do it, but this is actually the BEST shop I’ve ever been to in my life. But the drinks and food are only half of it, the other part goes to the staff and atmosphere. There’s not a single coffee shop I’ve been to that has this high of a level of connection between pretty much everyone. The baristas and staff are always so happy and willing to chat it up, and this seems to seep into the community of folks that stop in from Saugatuck or surrounding areas, whether they’re seasoned regulars or new visitors. I really believe the world needs more spaces like this, coffee shop or otherwise. Uncommon is such a treat, and I’m so grateful I live close enough to visit so often also, huge shout-out to Jenna for her suggestion on those charcoal tablets, homegirl saved my stomach!

Stopped here twice on our two-night visit to Saugatuck. Cannot say enough good things about Uncommon. The pastries and coffee were outstanding and there was a large selection of both. The staff was friendly and they moved the line along quickly. I was happy to support this local spot.
